Think we can at least wait for the club to *do* something lazy and uninspiring before we start groaning at our shit?

Yeah, the end of the season was horrible and we’re all frustrated with Moyes but the closest thing we had to the trusted lieutenant signings everyone is currently prognosticating last summer was KDH.

I’ll be first in line to bitch if we sign Soucek like.

Who’s still in for Vardy as an option off the bench?

Who is AWB?

I can barely keep up with the abbreviations of our own players, now I’m supposed to know every player in the league’s initials?

Help out a daft old armchair fella.

Calling it now, we sign a bang-average right back who by measure of comparison becomes a fan favourite and is called ‘better than Coleman’ by some of our younger fans.

Like when I declared Luke Garbutt was better than Leighton Baines after a europa league group match where he blocked a cross and took a good corner

We have to own our shit. I am still convinced Bily would have been great if played in the hole 😂

Number tens are wingers and utility midfielders who belong in a midfield three are number tens.

I don’t make the rules, Davey does.

So ChatGPT says this about AWB…..

(If true then definite upgrade and perfect for Moyes. If we are getting him, then hopefully we can find a young understudy that has the potential to take his place the following season.)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is mainly a defensive right-back known for:

* Elite 1-v-1 defending
* Last-ditch tackling
* Recovery pace
* Strong ground duels
* Athletic ball carrying up the wing

His nickname for years has basically been “The Spider” because of the way he stretches a leg in to win tackles that look impossible.

Strengths

* Tackling: One of the best one-on-one full-backs in the Premier League.
* Defensive recovery: Very hard to beat when isolated.
* Physicality & pace: Covers ground quickly and handles tricky wingers well.
* Ball carrying: Better dribbler than people give him credit for — he can drive forward powerfully.

Weaknesses

* Crossing/final ball: Not naturally creative compared to attacking full-backs like Trent Alexander-Arnold.
* Positioning in possession: Sometimes looks awkward in intricate passing systems.
* Attacking output: Usually not huge numbers for goals or assists.

What kind of system suits him?

He’s best in:

* Counter-attacking teams
* Systems where the right-back has defensive responsibility first
* Teams needing to lock down dangerous left wingers

He’s less suited to:

* Ultra-possession systems where the full-back acts like a playmaker

At his best, he’s a specialist defensive full-back rather than a modern “quarterback” type attacking defender.

A decent comparison stylistically:

* Defensively: somewhere between a classic old-school full-back and a modern athletic stopper
* Attacking-wise: more functional than flashy

For clubs needing defensive solidity on the right side, he’s extremely valuable.
