Tim Iroegbunam
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I love Gana but would like to see Iroegbunam continue to develop and get more minutes. Genuine athleticism, unbelievable ball winner, decent ball carrier. Needs to work on his passing, when to release the ball, and figure out how to contribute in an attacking sense but he has a lot of tools you'd want.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Not from what I watched .
It was odd , I asked in the match day thread who got Motm as i wasnt watching sky during the game , but wouldn't surprise me considering it was fucking big chin doing the Comms , thought they'd forgot...... surprised Doku didn't get it.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Still only 22... Play him regularly and in a couple of seasons we'll be getting bids of £70m+
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I still think he's too poor on the ball. Cost us Doku's first goal because of it. He's no idea when to release it and he's not a good passer. Elite ballwinner for sure but he's not for me so far.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I don't know if you can really blame him for that, he was on the floor, quickly stood up and didn't really have time to do anything.
I think with experience he maybe just pokes it away as far as he can, but I don't honestly think it was a glaring error.
Main thing for me is that he's kicked on an enormous amount, and the areas he's still raw can improve.
With his elite level ball winning and recoveries you only need to be above average in other areas to be a top quality player... I think he'll get there providing he plays regularly.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I like his energy and enthusiasm but his quality on the ball isn't all that and we need better control if we want to improve.
I think he gets the crowd going to with some spectacular challenges, but when you break down the challenges they're usually as a result of being miles out of position and having to make them. Like I said, I do like him, but think he's got a lot of developing to do to be the player people want him to be

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
He’s good on the ball.
He’s great at taking it in tight spaces and coming away with it.
That chance in the first half is a perfect example of that.
Just needs to know when not to dribble and when to just find the easy pass.
Off the ball he is a phenomenon. The ability to not just win the ball, but win it, come away with it and dribble up the pitch is the difference between a good DM and a great one.
They couldn’t deal with him in that second half. He was running the game in a way I’ve rarely seen from an everton centre mid in that type of game.
If we don’t turn him into a world class DM, then somebody like Bournemouth or Brighton will and he’ll be at the highest level in a few years.
Genuinely think he can be that good.
I’d be taking him the World Cup. Probably give him the armband as well tbh.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Gana was thinking about leaving school before Tim was even born.
He's got a lot of learning to do and a lot of time left to do it but he has the raw materials to be a top player.
If given the chance.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Probably not many would agree but I wouldn't swap him for onana. Think hes got much more potential and have enjoyed watching him much more than I enjoyed onana
For me villa have made a massive mistake here. They've given us someone of real value when we were only attempting to move around money
