Onana

Seemed to turn it on when he fancied it and go missing when he couldn’t be arsed.

Don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as he thinks he is .

Don't start me on him, 20 seconds on Youtube V Arsenal player. Could have been great but his career showed where his attitude was and he never reached the heights his talent probably deserved.

File under 'what could have been'.

Bolasie was definitely another one and I was extremely underwhelmed when we signed him. He had a bit of a reputation at Palace for playing well at the beginning of a season and turning up when playing against us or Liverpool but most of the time was quite meh.

Seemed a nice guy and I remember after he left he still followed us and engaged in Twitter Spaces. But as a footballer at Everton, I didn’t think he was that great before his injury, I did though feel a bit sorry for him how he was utilised by Allardyce.

He wasn't exactly perfect, but also I just think at the time we needed someone to give us some fight, and he was actually a really good footballer.

Had a lot of negatives but certainly for a while he lifted the club in a way no one else we had at the time could.
That's it, there were few that thought they could take it to any team in the league and would run through them. Evened the tables against the big teams who thought they had the mental ascendency. Scared the shit out of the so called hardest of them. Provided belief when there was very little.

Of course the caveat, the bad stuff around fitness and discipline.

The Big Yin (& Yang) for me.

Came to post that. Don't really know why.
Technique or lack of it, like Phil Neville, head down. The same but opposite of Gary Naysmith.

Pembridge did have a decent left peg though.

Always find it weird that he played for Benfica.

Aiden McGeady. Just could not fathom what he brought to the table at all.

Gylfi Sigurdsson. I remember thinking 15-20 million maybe, but then for some reason Everton go and spunk 40 plus on him. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't completely shite. He'd chip in with the odd worldy every few months, but he wil never be a 40 million pound player while he has a hole in his arse.

Bernard. Really wanted him to be brilliant. Clearly an immensely talented player, but far too lightweight for the Premier league.

James Beattie. Never really wanted us to sign him in the first place. Once we signed him, I didn't hate him. Just never really took to him.as the man who should be leading the line at Everton. He's not the only one I feel that way about. That list is too long to post here. It's more that we spent a few quid on Beattie and I could quite work out what he was. He was OK, but not brilliant.

Amadou Onana. Excited when we signed him. Young, promising midfielder and looked an absolute unit. Thinking this guy is going to be Everton's Patrick Viera. He really wasn't and hasn't really pulled up any trees at Villa either. For such a big athletic looking lad, he just came across as lazy and generally not arsed. Waving your arms at the crowd does not change what's happening on the pitch. Put yourself about a bit you lazy prick.

Neal Maupay. Just completely the wrong profile of player to suit what we needed at the time. We needed a big strong target man to lead the line. What we signed was a petulant short arsed shitehawk. As a second striker, he may have done a bit better, because he's a proper little shithouse, but playing the little bellend up front on his own was never going to work.

I could go on all day...

Reading the previous posts, I’d definitely go along with Gordon, McGeady and Maupay.
And from day one I’ve called out McNeil and Barry. Never have and never will take to them.

I’m sure the Welsh contingent won’t like me saying this one but

Simon Davies - I just had this feeling as soon as we signed him that it wouldn’t work out for him with us
