I see Operation Vilify Everton Player has been in full effect today.

Talksport all day, the BBC extracting anyone who would give them a quote, and I don't doubt Henry Winter and his ilk all writing full bloodied articles / phone ins on that tackle.

I get it was a straight red, do we need Mark Lawrenson or Danny Murphy coming out saying "you can see he meant to do that" or "you can see it in his eyes".

It's Jordan Pickford on VVD again.

What did they say about van Dijk's two assaults this season?

That he should claim off the victims for wear on his studs.

The Operation only works with Everton players, silly.

Theres 2 articles and a video on the BBC about it. More than the match.

What annoys is all the wankers on TalkSport, SKy and BBC calling Tarks out for "knowing what he was doing" etc

Tarks will be a marked man going forward.

Pathetic, it was a proper derby tackle.

He's purposely followed through to get him, but he definitely hasn't thought to himself "I'll nearly snap his leg with my studs here is right".

Should have been a red, but its not assault, so strange it's still headline news.

A red in work was trying to see what I thought about it and I just told him that I don’t care.

It's a shocking challenge tbf but it's also just one of many from both sides in derby's. It's not like they've not done it to us so does seem all very OTT even if it was a intentionally bad one.

I think the fact he didn't get sent off is causing it to be more of an issue than it is, but then that frustration should be directed towards VAR not Tarks.
