For a one off pick it has to be Baines.
However our desperation for goals i'd go for Yak or Rooney

Fernandes was wank.

Cahill would work well in this side, Baines as well but Arteta would be amazing alongside Gueye

Fun question: how would everyone choose to deploy an Arteta in this team?

Obviously, his very best form was as a proper deep central playmaker BUT you could make the argument that we’re stronger there than on the right and he was also bossing games at times as Beckham-style right midfielder. Still get chills when I see the Fiorentina goal.

Absolutely through the middle, loved him in central midfield

For this team, as others have said, I think Cahill would have the biggest influence. His goals from midfield would be massive for us. He proved he was pivotal in Moyes' early (not so great) and later (really good squad) sides, so you know he'd be massive for this side.

Silly analogy….
He didn't do much at Everton either. He didn't do much anywhere

17 year-old Rooney coming through now, with us soon to be out of the financial woods, new rich owners, new stadium.

Crikey, timing is everything isn’t it.

It's from Baines, Fellaini, Rooney, Arteta, and Yakubu

Yakubu

All others would improve us in their areas of the pitch, but Yakubu would add points to the board by scoring goals to win and draw games.

Lescott in his prime is worth a mention. But Cahill for me

I’m not sure Yakubu even at his prime would work well in this current team especially considering our problems getting the ball forward to create chances for the strikers.

No doubt he was a good goal scorer back in the day but when the players under Moyes were not playing great he was a bit redundant with Anichebe sometimes offering more.
