Jarrad Branthwaite
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Difference with him in the team is absolutely massive. He was in the way of everything in that last 25 minutes.

Yeah, and it's a good partnership too as I thought Tarks also got in the way of a lot today.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
A truly gorgeous sight back in there, absolutely stonking performance after a lay off.
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Thought he looked quite off the pace first half (understandably) but was a total rock second half. Makes a massive difference and his partnership with Tarks is a massive thing for us.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
He is such a calming presence in the team. That and being rapid, good in the air and positionally sound. He’s invaluable. Good to see him turning and running freely after a groin injury too because they can be niggly and hard to shift.

He just oozes class. Impossible to replace though and we've seen how we struggle without him. Need to plan now

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
They have planned, that’s what O Brien is. Hopefully with new owners, new stadium, new manager?? We may keep him and O Brien is Keane’s replacement.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:09 am He just oozes class. Impossible to replace though and we've seen how we struggle without him. Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
I do think we need to plan a little further for the loss of JB.
Unfortunately, I don't see O'Brien getting near to JB's level. I know it is mega early days and JOB could be a very good signing, but that doesn't equate to him necessarily being up to Jarrad's level. He is a special talent and that's going to be an almost impossible task to replace him for where we are as a club. Without waxing lyrical too much about him, if you were going to build a CB from scratch, JB wouldn't be far off from a perfect design.
I am just enjoying watching him play for us whilst he is a blue.

I think we'll all agree though that we never truly replaced Stones until we signed the mighty Ashley Williams
