Plenty of good players don’t get starts at international level.

There’s still a chance that the red flag for him not starting will retrospectively be awarded to the manager for not realising what a player he has.

But… I will say that it is early days in his career so maybe there’s no red flags needed for anyone? Maybe things are just taking their natural course?

If he was an unbelievable talent he would be in by now. Let’s agree he’s probably not that. But that doesn’t mean he can’t turn out to be very good for us. Maybe not this year, maybe not even next, but people need to chill on making assessments until he’s had some game time with us.

No, but they only had 4 recognised CBs, one was on loan from Southampton (Duje Caleta-Car) and one of them was Dejan Lovren, the other was Adryelson who wasnt signed until Jan
