I’m not the most clued of Blues when it comes to anything beyond the first team so this could be bollocks, but I do look out for the other teams and youths etc, mostly by reading the threads on here, and I don’t see many loan options happening. We have a number of non-senior sides, each with a squad, and I only ever seem to read about 5 or 6 loans out a season.

Do we only bother with loans for lads we think might have a shot at PL level? There must be a few lads from each age group who go on to be pros at some level, somewhere? Or are 20 lads from the U21s going the job centre every summer?

Think the only criticism we can have is that we do really poorly at finding any of our players good loans. Even Gordon and barklek had very underwhelming loan spells. Probably forgetting some but it feels like the only 1s with real success on loan are Coleman Simms and Cannon and that's over a lot of years

Oh and we seem to take an age to make decisions on players. We shouldn't have 23 year olds on our books who've made no impact here or at any decent level anywhere. Seems like we are terrified to get 1 wrong so just delay making a decision

Sometimes a loan's only as good as the player makes it, if they want to play in the PL and struggle to make an impact in League One or the Championship then that's largely on them and their ability.

I've said a few times that this isn't the best club for a youngish player to come and develop in recent years but if you're coming through the academy at a PL club you're getting the best of facilities, it's rarely down to the clubs that players don't make it. We'll see how the current released players get on but like most years it'll be a miracle if any of them have a career in anything above the Championship. I think I'm right in saying something like 97% of players who come through PL academies never play in the PL.

I don't disagree but it then comes back to my other point of why are they still at the club in their early 20s after failed league 1 loans. Make quick decisions. Let these players get on with their careers

Remember osman was on the way out had a good loan at derby went on to have a great career not saying these lads would be at that level but we are giving them no chance

It's probably just a fact that most of them, including these, are just making up the numbers at academy level so we can field a team, in the hope that every few years one is big enough and strong enough to head the ball 20 yards, or a natural talent enough to sell.

It’s a really good move for him.

They’re in league two and we’re in with a real chance of going up before they collapsed in the second half of the season.

They’ve chosen to train in Manchester so they can attract the best young players released from the north west clubs.

Real buzz around the team at the moment and with Stockport and Wrexham out the league they’ve got a good chance next season.

I think statsbomb are behind a lot of their recruitment.

Nice to see them do okay after us. Important that we produce players who have decent careers in the game even if we don't get anything out of it
