Re: Ashley "not so" Young
Full back really isn't the place for a 38 year old without pace. Shows where we are as a club. We are having to really just sign any bodies that are available for next to nowt
Re: Ashley "not so" Young
Seen worse players cost a lot more money.
I don’t enjoy watching him play for us but it’s the type of signing a club in our position has to make.
It’s not worse a signing than the likes of Rondon and Townsend.
Don’t want to see these players play for Everton but it is what it is.

Re: Ashley "not so" Young
I think he’s a liability at full back as the 3 “pens” showed yesterday. He’s a winger who dropped back in his mid 30s, not like a Seamus who’s played there all his career so the know how helps him get around the lack of pace. Should be restricted to the wing

Bit unfair on Townsend thought he contributed a good bit before he got injuredTheRam wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 12:58 pm Seen worse players cost a lot more money.

Just play Jim Garner there for the rest of the season and be done with it.
He's not good enough to play in the middle and is more mobile than either Young or Coleman.

I mentioned that in the matchday thread.Big Nevs Vaz wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 1:51 pm Just play Jim Garner there for the rest of the season and be done with it.

Re: Ashley "not so" Young
He did alright when the player was in front of him and receiving the ball to feet, he kept their winger under control in those situations.
He was shocking the minute the ball was put in behind, his defensive intelligence isn't good enough to read the play, and he no longer has the pace to get back once the pass is played.

Anyone started a sweepstake yet for the time that young gives away a pen in the Derby?

I know he’s generally crap and an accident waiting to happen but…tweeting himself singing Cry me a River after Forest is quality!

Re: Ashley "not so" Young
Easy to forget he was a top level player in his day. He's just too old now and nolonger Prem level. Not his fault that he's been given a contract and keeps getting picked.
