If yes, you are supporting the wrong club. It's not a sustainable model.

Nobody has put together a cogent, coherent argument why we potentially selling our star attraction.
Well run with a plan? I'd take that, of course it's sustainable.

We bought a player for about £20m, he's scored about 15 goals and 4 assists and we've a chance to get somewhere north of £70m for him, of course we should be selling him. If our "star attraction" is someone with those kind of numbers then it sums out again why we've not worked the transfer market well.

Why do you think the top clubs don't do this year in and year out?

Because they don't need to.

They can be really stupid with their spending, and they can still spend massive amounts the following season, without any repercussions.

It's really quite basic.

So going full circle...
do we need to sell Ndiaye and replace him with a 30 year old on high wages for SCR

Yes or no?

We don't need to, but we might choose to if we think the money and the spending capability allows us to be stronger overall.

Never mind the likes of City or United, Spurs have a turnover of nearly £600m, ours wasn't even £200m, we're miles behind them in terms of revenue.

CorkyOnTour wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2026 3:46 pm Funnily enough I feel the same about people who keep just saying "SCR" without really understanding it.

I sent a link to explain but it's been completely ignored. This thread has turned into buzzword bingo

lets try again;
Are we in Europe this season?
Are we under tight SCR restrictions?
Do we need to sell our best player to complete a rebuild job?
Replacing him with a 30 year old with no resale value and a big wage does what to what our SCR?
You're basically saying don't sell Ndaiye, and buy more players to improve the team around him.

It's a wonderful fantasy, but ultimately it is just that. We can't spend much money hence why our signings have been sub £20m each or a straight swap for an existing player. Your argument about improving the team by buying more players falls flat on it's face the moment CSR is considered.

It's not even all that hard to understand, but for whatever reason you refuse to despite multiple people explaining it to you

Right, we are getting somewhere now.
This isnt a slight at you but a lot of fans dont understand SCR or the fact that the PL and UEFA have different financial rules.
They also dont understand what turnover is or how it's generated or calculated.

None of this conversation is about SCR. It's not something that worries us at the moment.

In fact, if JG doesnt take a pay cut, adding £300k a week to our P&L is a problem, especially depending on what contract he signed.

This conversation is about should we sell Ndiaye instead of showing ambition and intent.

Why are you repeating that back to me when you have already said as much in this thread. Are you just incapable of writing a proper reply or something?
