The players on your list were there for a long period of time and helped their clubs to success and/or to grow into European contenders year in and year out before leaving.

UEFA enforce very tough financial regulations. Not being in Europe also helps sides to spend big.
Do we need to sell Ndiaye because of SCR? No.
Are we so short of quality players we need an entire rebuild job? No

Look at how far they had to go back with the majority of them.
We don't need to sell Ndiaye. This is entire point.
Players like Harry Kane and Gareth Bale were central figures that Spurs built around to make Europe year in and year out before moving them on.

Given how much better Brighton and Bournemouth have performed both in terms of player trading and on the pitch compared to us over the last few seasons you're probably not helping your argument here.
It's plain and simple our revenue like all the clubs dictates how much we can spend , and then we have to abide by premier league and uefa rules, if your in Europe.
Spurs / Chelsea turnover massive
Villa Newcastle less so , Villas case just had to off load half the squad. Newcastle as we know who owns them but they can't spend .
All we can do is sell for profit and " hope " we reinvest in gems and not duds.....
Of all are big money signings in the last 12 years only Rom and Pickford have been a success....
Either way we can't do a Moshiri type window any more....

Nobody has put together a cogent, coherent argument why we potentially selling our star attraction.

I feel like multiple people have explained it to you, but you neither understand football nor are you willing to learn from those trying to help you do so
Spurs and Chelsea have both worked out different ways to be able to spend a lot of money.
One generates massive income through pimping out their stadium (London factor is also a force multiplier), and the other has one of the best academies in the world and trades young players like an international trafficking operation.
We are improving our youth setup significantly, but that sort of thing can take 10 years or more to really bear fruit. So our only opportunities to grow revenues in the short to medium term, and therefore spending capability, are to use the stadium for massive events/concerts and to sell players for very high value like Brighton/Bournemouth etc.
The income from the stadium is growing and will continue to grow, and that will put us high up in that second tier of teams eventually below the Sky 6, in terms of revenue. That's a huge positive. Lots of other clubs are stuck in their grounds and are desperately trying to find ways to increase capacity or move. We'll have a competitive advantage over a lot of the Premier League middle class in the coming years because of this.
And then at times, we'll have to consider whether it will be worth selling an Ndiaye (or in future a Garner/Branthwaite etc) to supplement that income and be able to spend more to make the whole team better.
We do definitely need to be much better at selling the Pattersons/Betos and bringing in little pockets of £15m-20m to again supplement that spending capability.
Ultimately, if the Friedkins wanted to spend £500m on players for us this summer, they wouldn't be allowed to do it. So they're not to blame for any of this. You have to generate as much income as you possibly can on your own through infrastructure and player sales, and then you can spend upto 85% of that (70% when you get into Europe).
Selling players is not an indication of lack of ambition. It's a thing that is necessary to partially bridge a massive gap, and you have to do a risk/reward calculation around those decisions, along with having excellent recruitment to replace and (hopefully) improve.

Funnily enough I feel the same about people who keep just saying "SCR" without really understanding it.

lets try again;
Are we in Europe this season?
Are we under tight SCR restrictions?
Do we need to sell our best player to complete a rebuild job?
Replacing him with a 30 year old with no resale value and a big wage does what to what our SCR?
