Don't give contracts out to players like Myko (fair play, 2 decent games on the trot) or Keane.
The anger isn't as myopic as "we should just sign 5 players tomorrow" and it's disingenuous, at best, to suggest that's what people are asking for. Those of us berating the club are doing so because very few lessons seem to have been learned - the people with telling us everything is fine and this squad is as good as it has any right to be were likely the same justifying the money for Bolasie, or Sigurdsson. An odd outlook where the club can do no wrong seemingly.
As has been repeatedly pointed out 70% of the transfer window business is done in the final days and the players that we want to sell like Beto are hardly going to be anyone's first choice players so bids for them will come in later in the window.
We fucked up the LB situation by keeping Myko so long that he could have left on a free this summer, we don't have the budget to let players leave on a free so there has been some pragmatic moves like extending Myko & Keane in order to free up funds to invest elsewhere in young talent (Hackney, George, Rohl). There's something ironic about complaining about the historic terrible financial decisions of overpaying for Bolasie and Sigurdsson whilst expecting the club to let Beto go for cut price or Myko on a free and also spend on shiny new players - we have to operate in reality not Moshiri-land.
In general I'm a pessimist when it comes to Everton (not the type who think the club can do no wrong as you are straw manning me as). I don't think Moyes should be in charge and I often complain about our transfer business but if you look at the squad compared to 2 years ago we've made real progress and have a young, relatively balanced squad and are heading in the right direction.

With the Mykolenko renewal, there was a lot of talk of Diouf from West Ham as someone who should replace him.
Well he's going for £40m to Brentford, so I think that says a lot about why we haven't just let him run down his contract and sign a better player.
In an ideal world we'd buy who we want and not suffer the performances of certain players, but every deal we've done this summer has been a budget one, a hardballed low fee or a random swap deal. We just don't have the spending ability to build Rome in a day.
As you said though, the foundations are finally being laid to allow us to build instead of everything around us crumbling and tumbling down like under the previous regime.

Maybe it's just because I follow Everton closer than other clubs but it certainly seems to be true for clubs at our level where we're rarely anybody's first choice and the players we do have are rarely somebody else's first choice
