Do we really still need to do that much business?

Yes we need a right back but if we bought a competent one would we be okay to go with what we've got for the season? We're well stocked across midfield and the flanks, passable up front if both our strikers repeat last season's tallies (Barry should better it) so that just leaves left back as the glaring weakness, but we aren't going to solve that in a few days.

I know Moyes will have us thinking we're well short in but I'm not sure we are that bad really. It is next summer we'll really have to sort the defence out.

I’m hoping there’s a couple of Hackney / Norgaard level signings to come, one of whom is a RB. If the RB doesn’t happen the fucking lot of them from Kinnear down need to go as they’ve failed miserably. They’ve had a full 12 months to identify targets and it would defy belief if they don’t get one signed, no excuses.

I think that's reasonable - a RB is the only mandatory signing.
But it is a one-in-one-out situation after that in my opinion.

Beto goes, we need a striker
Ndiaye goes we need a winger
Obrien goes we need a centre half

I think the wings are a bit unbalanced (we play both of the guys able to play left wing simultaneously and have 2 right wingers on the bench). But Grealish probably fixes that at the expense of our youth getting minutes.

Yeah one thing that's not been talked about thus far is we haven't utilised the loan market.

I'd imagine Grealish, if it happens will be another loan, maybe another near the deadline.

But above all else as has been mentioned, if the window does shut and we still don't address the right back situation then I don't see the point of anything anymore.

Confident we will.

A competent right back then maybe sell Beto and get someone better and it's not the worst window.

Still got almost a week. Absolutely loads of time. A lot of clubs need to do a lot of business in that time. We don't need to do as much business as a lot of them.

A week isn’t absolutely loads of time.

Sounded from Kinnear that we were looking to do a lot of business in and out so I’d say we’re cutting it very fine.

🗞️Everton have not given up on Daniel Muñoz and remain in talks over a deal. Tottenham are interested and watching the developments closely but Everton are more advanced

A week is an absolute age when it's the last week of the transfer window. Loads of time.

Loads of clubs will be doing loads of business. Liverpool have been negotiating on Barcola for about 6 months. So far they've signed one lad and another on loan. They need about 5 more players just to have a full bench. Villa needs loads more, City need another 5 at least, Newcastle need a few more etc etc.

We're in the decent position that we probably only need a RB and possibly another striker. Obviously if there's outgoings like JOB, we'll need to get more. But we're in a decent position.

Genuine chance for us to pick up some smart loans from the big clubs once they start their usual last minute merry go rounds. We managed to bag Grealish last year.

No need to panic. We might even catch a few bids for the likes of Alcaraz as well to ship some out the door.

Them were the days when random bits used to fall off the old mans various bangers. Seems like every holiday we went on to Cornwall or Wales something blew up or fell off on the way down there.

Just don't get that anymore.

So we only need a week window really and 70% of that week too.

The rest of it is a waste of time.
