I'm on a come down!

Can you see us getting one for the money we seem to have?

Absolutely we'll get one.

Whether they'll be good enough to really elevate us, we'll have to see, but we'll defo get one.

He effectively said he's using Merlin Rohl in a similar way to the way City transformed Matthias Nunez into a RB from a midfielder for now, and that they want to buy one who's noticeably better than Rohl (ie not just buying any random RB and then end up preferring Rohl there anyway, and having wasted £15-20m).

I hope you are right and I am wrong.

I don’t think he said that about Rohl being used like Nunes.

He didn't say it directly, but I think that's the analogy he was drawing. Converting an athletic midfielder into a RB.

It’s good point on Rohl though, we’ve just invested good money in him and he seems capable of playing in a lot of positions.

No point buying somebody like Johnson who isn’t going to be any better than Rohl there, we need somebody actually good.

Honestly I’d prefer Rohl at RB and a new LB than I would buying a twenty eight year old middling right back from the SPL

Which isn't necessarily a bad shout.

A good footballer with the right attributes, at a young enough age, should be able slot into a few positions and learn.

Problem is that Moyes think Johnston will make us better! That is a statement about wanting to be bang average.

Didn’t seem my sort of place.

I used to go on Blue Kipper back in the day and I liked that, but this was just so, so much better.

Never seen so many anti-everton (fellow fans, forum members, team, management, everything) admins and members in a supposedly Everton related site before

Bluekipper: ahh those were the days!!

NSNO: Im new, but you all seem to be a lot more chilled and perhaps even some of you LIKE Everton?

We all screamed blue murder at the way the previous regime spaffed money on turds. At least we seem to have some concept of quality control these days when it comes to purchases.

Having said that .... waiting all window for a unicorn that never arrives will turn me against them pretty rapid!

sort of getting used to merlin at RB for now
it does work
but
would still be very disappointed if we didnt get a decent RB like munoz for the rest of the season
as we want our best midfielders like garner and merlin playing to their ultimate strengths in midfield
feeling a bit more optimistic if moyes plays merlin at RB v palace today rather than JOB - just dont go there

We all love Everton here. That’s the only reason we’re still in this abusive relationship. “Things will change. It will be different this time!”

I don’t think Rohl is a RB, but do think even more we shouldn’t be spending a big wedge on an older player if money is limited as I want to see some of these younger players get time on the pitch.

If we can get Doue though, sure.

Can't see us buying a rightback when Rhol,Garner and O'Brien can play there. Would rather a striker bought to replace Beto.
