There would need to be a significant amount of movement in the remaining few weeks of this window for a top 8 finish.

We still lack goals. Where is the creativity coming from? Even if Grealish comes back, how many games are we getting from him given his injury record. We'll be lucky to get half a season out of him.

Ndiayes situation is up in the air.

Dibling and George need to be given more game time this season than last, but will this manager be giving them additional minutes? Not sure

Branthwaite, similar to Grealish. Unlikely to be playing 30 plus games next season, so we'll be seeing O'Brien/Tarky and Keane all playing a significant part next season.

Biggest one for me is the manager. What motivation will be there for him knowing it's his last season?

Personally, the club will view the two summer window as back to back seasons of stability with a lower half finish.

I've been pretty calm about how we're doing business so far, but I will admit that's probably a lot to do with my feelings on the teams coming up this time. IF they all get off to a flyer then the less calm feelings may rise up.

It's impossible to judge these things though in isolation until the window closes. That's been said in the past and too often we get to the end and nothing happens mind you. However, we're almost always forced to do business very late in the window because we can't afford to overpay like Spurs or Chelsea and we have no big draw like European football. It's a game of musical chairs for us and in fairness a fair few others in the PL and we have to wait until the pressure of players worried about not finding "a seat" hits to get deals done. We also probably are waiting to see what's happening with Ndiaye.

So far, nothing much has really changed. We've lost Gueye. We've got Hackney and Norgaard. You could say we've lost Grealish too, but that seems a bit of distant memory given how much of the season he missed. Same with Coleman.

It's all a bit mid I suppose, like preseason itself. Decent game the other day against Hamburg, but the last two were flat/disappointing.

It's wait and see still though. I actually, at least now, don't super mind we're not just paying an extra few mil to get certain deals done.

Spent money on a player who the manager hardly played last season and another who wasn’t even trusted to come on for ten minute cameos.

Hackney could be good, but I don’t think he moves the needle in any way.

Don’t agree at all about the manager's motivation. Firstly I don’t believe for a second he won’t want to achieve something IF it turns out to be his last season. Second, I know the perception is it’ll be his last season but has anyone at the club said as much? For all we know his motivation could be to earn another contract, however unpopular that’d be on here.

6 at the flapping stakes sounds like one of our better seasons in recent times! We're going to be shit, but that's par for the course.

Agree and it really is inexcusable given the amount of time it’s been a major weakness. I really thought it would have been our first signing

The right back situation is beyond parody now. It was ridiculous this time last season. Its unfathomable its still going on 12 months later with expections so low now the positives of the links seem to be know how to play the position

In terms of what weve signed. Like been said above weve signed players who the manager didn't want to play last season. Think we will get grealish but when and at what cost

We seem to be the same drab team weve been for so long now. We will be fine but we will probably do worse than last season. It just feels like every season is just another wasted unenjoyable year. We continue to not fix the problems and scout poorly. Ive no faith in the people the new owners have employed.

I just don't see where regular goals are coming from. Not because we have poor strikers but we have no plan to get the ball to them.

Right back is obvious, but even with a competent one, our defence isn't good enough. Mykolenko wouldn't get into Coventry's first 11 and you know Moyes won't drop Tarkowski, even though JB and JOB should be the starting pair.

I know statistically it was strong last season but we conceded 15 in the last 7 games, don't have Gana protecting it this year, and they're all a year older and even slower than before.

I don't think we'll go down but we're in for a long season.
