Nah, Phil always pointed to where he was looking. Totally different vibe from this lad.

They’re the same age, bro (Baku is actually a bit older)Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2026 9:12 am Could also be read as moyes wants the experienced international from Celtic and the board want a young right back with a higher ceiling there is a good amount of friction between both behind the scenes I’d say

The memo to the recruitment team fell in a puddle so instead of:
GET ME A RAMPAGING RIGHT BACK
they got:
GET ME A AGING RI BA K

That didn’t work as well as I hoped. It deleted a lot of the spaces. Took me ages to line up perfectly as well. Never mind. Everton that.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Doesn't seem to crazy to believe we're looking at multiple right backs (or their clubs), gauging their interest in a move and the potential costs involved. I'd guess we're trying to avoid the scenario we found ourselves in last season by having multiple options lined up.
Hopefully we get our first choice, but our second choice is still better than no right back.

You clearly put more effort into that than our entire scouting team did to find us a new RBToddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2026 12:41 pm That didn’t work as well as I hoped. It deleted a lot of the spaces. Took me ages to line up perfectly as well. Never mind. Everton that.

I get the feeling limited finances are pushing us in that direction unfortunately.

Yes, I reckon a bit of this, plus a bit of a “well, you’ve got some young players in, now let’s get some more experienced ones in for the now”UnsyisaRhino wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2026 1:05 pm I get the feeling limited finances are pushing us in that direction unfortunately.

Think this is what happens when you say "28 year old right back" five times into a mirror

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
In fairness, despite the frustration currently are we doing kinda the right thing a little bit maybe? We put an offer in to Celtic, they ask for more so we try and get an experienced older player for the price we want elsewhere?
Basically we don’t seem laser focused on one option which seems like a pragmatic thing.
