I haven't seen Johnston play, but I'd be very surprised if this is actually the case.

No way have we been tracking Alistair Johnston for the last couple of years. He’s a panic buy at the till when you’re already at the checkout. Somewhere between the bubble gum and sugar free sweets.
That's exactly what it will be if we get him, a panic buy by a bunch of incompetent, inept and downright useless wasters.
The idea we have been tracking this guy for a while is an insult to our intelligence.
I'll be honest i'm at the the end of my rope, i've never felt so disillusioned and disconnected going into a new season.

I fully appreciate that last season the Dibling money could have been spent elsewhere, but that's been and gone. The actual transfer of Dibling may or may not end up being fruitful, no one knows right now. If we sell for £100m in 2 years time people might see the decision to buy him very differently.
We will have spent 150+ under these people. If we haven't got a proper budget for a right back now thats absolutely on the people who spent 150m

No he's not.
I have my biases because he's Canadian but it's not particularly close imo. He will clearly be better than anyone we've had play RB in years.
Does not mean it's a good buy or that he'd be who I would target but there is a lot of hyperbole in here because we have had a shit summer and needed a RB for 5 or more years.
He will be a culture fit though, of that Im sure. Moyes will like his attitude and tenacity a lot.
Positive reviews from Celtic fans and Canadians which is always a good sign when you're looking at what other fans think of a player they've seen a lot. If he was 22/23 then I'd be a lot more up for it than I am, as it is then it kind of feels like we're going for a 6/10 stopgap who might not even be able to make the step up which is annoying given how desperate the RB situation is.
