New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
It was a sell out besides some of the semi-corp stuff (The Street etc).
I go to Twickenham most years, so this was right up my street.
Atmosphere is a bit flat (but it was always going to be one way traffic - I just enjoy supporting a team that's actually good and wins when it's meant to, for a change).
Plaza was exceptional today. Fiji stuff everywhere.
Special edition food inside as well
Loads to complain about with Everton, what they're doing with the stadium isn't one of them

Fantastic to see the stadium being used for lots of other sporting events.
Not just for the money but because it utilises such a great space for more than just a couple of dozen games a year.

50,209 - the highest Fiji have ever achieved for a home game
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

Oh noooo my new state of the art in demand stadium Is being used as envisioned for too many money spinning events, getting rave reviews from across the world of sport, my lobster too fresh, my steak too tender and bed too soft and comfortable.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Great for the local economy, tourism and employment, need to keep driving more non football events into the stadium to get revenue levels up to those of our competitors.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
They’ll do well if the prices are reasonable compared to the Plaza
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
They will on match day, but wont every other day of the week

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I know someone who works at the law firm and I was asking them about the large scale music gigs and apparently there will be some announcements soon on bands.
I was asking more to just make some small talk rather than expecting them to actually know stuff but I guess they have vested interest in the stadium booking some big names and there would have been discussions internally there.

Definitely feels like there will be something big next summer
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
It's the acid test for me.
I've mentioned how impressed i am so far with the "extra-curricular" activity. But music is second only to football in this city and so they have to nail it.
If we get an announcement that Paul McCartney, Gerry Cinnamon, Pink and the Weeknd are playing over a few weeks, i'll be heartbroken.
No offence to any of those like. All giants in their own right. I just want something more. Something unique.
A support act playing in the plaza before hand. A Fri-Sat festival vibe or something.

McCartney and the weekend are two of the biggest acts in the world.superpull wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 10:43 am It's the acid test for me.

Doesn’t get bigger than McCartney.
Don’t know what else you could want outside of laser beams and space shuttles to the ground.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Ha, i didn't mean to comment on the artists themselves. I chose the people i did because i know they could all sell out a month of dates. Well, dunno abut Cinnamon like, although he'd sell out quite a few.
I just meant I want something more than just a generic concert once a week.
What Anfield does is fine. But I definitely want more than turn up at 7. Watch a couple of support acts playing to a quarter then a half of a ground, main act, want to kill myself trying to get out of the place.
The steps on the West side, the Plaza on the East. The new larger pub-spaces around the place. I'd like to see the entire space utilised somehow

This! This exact kind of shit is what i am wanting. Bongo Bingo meets Oktoberfest? I would hate going to the former and am a repeat customer of the latter.
But even if i hated both, this kind of unique experience that is well thought out is very specifically the kind of thing i was saying i want to see around the place for concerts.
With the accepted caveat that we would probably have to tone down the "Everton" to attract a wider crowd.
Or, would we? If the queue was restricted to Season ticket holders and members (2 tickets per individual) we'd sell out nearly any concert.
