Recover as much as possible, he was a terrible signing and I can't see fortunes changing.
He has the potential to be great, but I don't think the timing is right to come into our team. So much money, and therefore so much pressure, and we needed instant impact.
If we could afford to hang on to him I would, could be another lookman scenario.
Would be a shame to not see him develop here and become the player he has the potential to be, but also if we aren't going to play him then may as well sell, try recoup what we spent, and buy someone more suited.
One thing that might work in our favour here is that if we sold him for what we paid, Southampton wouldn't get a penny in sell on fee... Then if we insert a 15% one and he goes for big money down the line we make some money on the deal

Can’t see anyone paying anywhere near the £35 million we made as an initial payment, will be regarded by many as having failed at Premier League standard, my guess, £25m max.
Just turned 20 this year, created a fuck ton of chances in the relatively few minutes he played, has Grealish-esque close control and strength under pressure.
Cashing out early on a massive talent because he doesn’t look busy enough is the behavior of a club that doesn’t want to be good.
If we’re still here in another year or two then fine. Not now. Figure this out and he’s a £100m player.
Can't see us letting him go unless it's on loan. For all I've been critical, Moyes spoke well of him even if he didn't play him much and we'd be mad to invest that kind of money in a young player then punt him after no development in one season.
