Dwight McNeil
Re: Dwight McNeil
West Ham arent offering anywhere near the £20m Palace were touted to when desperate, especially with his contract up end of next season. £8m or £9M maybe?
Re: Dwight McNeil
I felt like this but his effort levels last season, especially in the first half of the season, was so bad that it's eaten into the goodwill I had towards him. Can handle someone being crap or out of form but his effort levels were a joke.kramer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2026 9:21 pm I do wish him the best however this shakes out.
I liked watching him quite a bit when we first signed him despite the obvious limitations. But there’s been a noticeable decline in his work rate and how often he gets on the ball which makes him wide Sigurdsson (and with only one good foot).
Hope he finds joy again scoring bangers for a promotion candidate.
Even worse that he suddenly improved (by his standards) instantly after the Palace move fell through.
Re: Dwight McNeil
What Palace offered was absolutely stupid.
Would’ve been an incredible deal had it come off.

Re: Dwight McNeil
Was integral to us staying up the first 2 seasons he was here, 9 and 10 goal contributions, and put in a great shift
That second season he had a load of personal issues with his wife being seriously ill and I think it just all caught up with him last season.
Think he should go with a lot of good will, because he wasn't a particularly expensive purchase and had clear limitations as a player, but had some big moments for us at important times.
It's a shame the last season maybe soured things a bit but I still think he was a solid signing.

Re: Dwight McNeil
As with a lot of our players we keep them to long and erode any good will we had for them. I get more frustrated with the club than the player.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2026 6:38 am Was integral to us staying up the first 2 seasons he was here, 9 and 10 goal contributions, and put in a great shift

Re: Dwight McNeil
Glad he won’t be our problem anymore.
Pathetic levels of performance over the last two seasons.
