Had one absolutely stinking effort from the edge of the box too, we need to start finding someone else in those situations or start telling him not to shoot.Big Nevs Vaz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 9:47 pm Chef’s kiss of a performance apart from the delayed pass to Illy.

Re: Gana
His shots have weirdly got stronger with age. I always thought he had a weak shot when he was here first time around. He's actually bagged a few goals since he's returned. Obviously not enough for the amount of time he finds himself in shooting positions but I think there's more chance of him getting a good shot off now.UnsyisaRhino wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 3:29 pm Had one absolutely stinking effort from the edge of the box too, we need to start finding someone else in those situations or telling him not to shoot.

Re: Gana
Just seen an article on Facebook saying he hasnt played enough to trigger an automatic contract extension. If that thats probably why he hasnt played recently which suggests he might not be here next season and certainly not without a big reduction in wages

Re: Gana
I’d be surprised if he hasn’t triggered that clause, he’s been more or less ever present, barring AFCON and last two games.

Re: Gana
I think if we want the other 3 to get game time then we need to say goodbye to Gana... He's been great, really appreciate his time here, but we all know that if he stays then it'll mean the others barely get a look in.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 8:02 am Need to keep him, the lad’s as fit as a fiddle still, just need to integrate the younger three a bit more.

Re: Gana
I know, he’s just been one of my favourites in modern times, I can’t lose him and Seamus in the same summer.
Re: Gana
It's a good point about Coleman and Gana both going in the same summer tbf, that's two leaders leaving which may well prompt Moyes to give him another year. I'd understand that tbh.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 11:20 am I know, he’s just been one of my favourites in modern times, I can’t lose him and Seamus in the same summer.
Re: Gana
Been a brilliant player for us, even better in this second spell for me. But it’s time.
Garner will never cover ground like Gana but he does plenty of gritty defensive work so our bite isn’t just walking out the door.
We need someone who breaks lines with forward balls into attackers’ feet and switches play comfortably out to the flanks more than anything else. That’s how we access another level. We ask our attackers to win too many duels to get possession in good areas right now and it’s partly down to a lack of ambition with the ball through the middle.
Two good fullbacks (not even great, merely good) and a midfield passer and suddenly we’re right there competing for a Europa berth without needing a ton of finishing or goalkeeping luck.
