Absolutely key for me is Branthwaites fitness. Need him starting a good 75% plus of our games in order for us to push on

I’m resigned to the fact that Moyes will probably be here til at least the end of the next season. He has mentioned us needing to bring in multiple full backs so hoping to God he finds a good starting right back so that the total shitshow in that position for the last few years is behind us

If we’re getting Grealish then I hope it’s boxed off early and that we’ve got him fit in time for the new season. Given how many total shitbags are in our squad who barely ever contribute any goals or assists - we simply cannot turn away a CL level assist machine who wants to play for us

There’s too many problems for us to fix this summer. We need pace in the squad desperately. Would even prioritise that over the striker tbh. Also we could do with a defensive midfielder, someone who sits deep and protects the defence. Not someone who just chases the ball everywhere

The defence is what needs sorting first though in my opinion. The full back debacle has gone on too long
If we don't get a right back then we are fucked next season in so many ways. Getting one allows O Brien to move inside and it at least be an option if Branthwaite isn't fit. If we start with the same defence as we finish the season we'll leak goals.

He has to go 1 year left no real point keeping him here for 1 year after that end of season run , it was harder not to get in to Europe with 6 games to go

DoF in after the manager again , like someone just said I don't care what they are saying on TV there is a rift between them . So with Moyes only having 1 year left can see him cutting it short and getting his own man in , might just be that was who he was buying the players for all along

I just can not for love nor money work out why Keane was given a year deal that sounds like Moyes staying

Lee Carsley for me but he is not free till 2027 after winning 3rd U21 European championship

Keep Moyes for another season and I think it'll be a battle to avoid relegation.

Apart from Spurs who were shocking, I expect they'll improve and finish above us next season, however they also had two games a week.

Palace and Forest finished a few points behind us and were playing two games a week.

Taking this end of season form just doesn't bode well for the start of next season.

Carsley gets us. We need to get ferguson back in to teach the strikers to lead the line too

Re: David Moyes

Nothing that hasn't been said and I missed yesterday's match myself but football moves on Moyes is starting to look like it might have moved past him now.

I was watching Bournemouth against City. Every single player playing in their proper position. Moyes is playing a CB at RB whilst having 2 RBs on the bench. He's playing a CM on the wing whilst having 3 wingers/wide players on the bench. It's just ridiculous.

It's one thing if this was bringing results but it's not. The fact we can play the way we have, the defence can concede as many goals as they have been and he goes and picks that team yesterday when there was nothing on the line for us is a really bad look for him.

There are improvements to be made to the squad/team, but we could go spend another £100m in the summer and Moyes will still be playing the XI he put out yesterday unless we spend it on the likes of Soucek.

With 1 year left on his contract then you wonder what the point is. Bournemouth, Sunderland and Brighton have qualified for Europe this season. If that doesn't happen next season then you can probably replace them with Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs. We're not going to qualify for Europe under him, we'll go out the cups meekly as he always does, why prolong it? The signs suggest we'll be in no better place in 12 months time compared to where we are now.

We have to do what is right for the club. Moyes is a safe pair of hands, despite the recent form. But if there is a better longer term option out there, then I also wouldn’t be against changing things.

Moyes will be furious with how the season ended and literally fell off a cliff. It does change the complexion of the season and situation for him. We were going into the summer with optimism, but that has all disappeared over the past few weeks.

It is ultimately up to Moyes to develop a clear and sustainable plan over the summer about how to drastically improve things next year. We have to see fairly big improvements across the board otherwise I see little choice in having to change things.

What sustainable plan is he actually developing over the coming months. He goes to the WC with talksport, by the time that finishes it'll be returning back for pre season training.

Bluedylan1 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 7:19 am It feels like there's not gonna be a managerial change.

Moyes is talking about summer transfers, he's been involved in renewing contracts of players, Angus Kinnear is talking about stability and not changing manager a week before the end of the season and there hasn't been one single article (even from disreputable sources) suggesting we might be reviewing the manager's position.

I think we're all gonna have to accept that Moyes will be here next season, and the transfer business will be done under him, much as it will piss many people off.
No there’s no chance of change.

I think we’re probably in the foot hills of discontent against ownership as well, as we could all reasonably see us blowing this summers funds, find ourselves for one reason or another in 17th come January and make a change.

At which point we’ll be worried about ‘having the right players’ for [insert coach who isn’t a dinosaur], and will probably opt for…honestly I don’t know but risk averse choices will present themselves (nuno? frank? frank lamp? Vitor?) and we go again from step one on the ladder.

Obviously other scenarios are available.
