But he still heads the ball

100% not given if it was up the other end

Unquestionably his hand was stupidly close to his head when he made contact but it's hard to say it definitively hit his hand...I kinda doubt the ball goes that far if it did hit the hand actually.

Maybe they had better quality image to view that my stream though :)

He still heads it but it hits his hand just before it, he knows it too, that's why he throws his arm the way he did, he wasn't swinging an elbow but he was reacting to hitting the ball. Stupid thing to do and he didn't even need to make the challenge, there was other players there.

No that's not a pen , even if they believe it's hit his hand , which it hasn't , what makes then think it's un natural he's jumping for the ball

but it's Celtic . So just have to get on with it. Sadly Hearts will probably fall a the last hurdle... They'll be playing the officials too on Saturday....

I thought the ref had given it on field , but for VAR to judge that obvious to overturn is way dodgy...

How have they not seen the Celtic player, by jumping, his shoulder pushes his arm up into the ball.

What's he supposed to do there? You need your arms to jump and the Celtic player has wedged his arm into the ball. There's no way it happens without it.

I hate Celtic as much as the next person but I don't see how anyone can't see that's a pen, look at the way he whips his hand away, he knows it's hit him, the more you see the more obvious it becomes.

Anyway, fuck them, hopefully Hearts get revenge on Saturday.

It's simple body mechanics though.

Absolutely not intentional, and you can't push down an 80kg+ jumping player with momentum wedged against you when you're on your way back down.

He pulls his arms away because he knows its been pushed into the ball.

Yes definitely hope they trounce them on the weekend.

Reckon they'll rock up and play for the draw? Feel like that's a dangerous game to play away from home to a side that always seems to find a way. Hearts have to go for it in my mind.

As much as they've been at the top so long, it always going to be tight in the end and hopefully they realise they've put themselves in a magnificent position to win the title. To only have to not lose a game to win the league for a club like Hearts is something they wouldn't have believed maybe even 6 months ago.

Normally if you go out and play for a draw and then concede early you're in trouble. I think they just need to go and stick to what they've done all season, I can't see him dropping Shankland or Braga so it'll be 442 and try and nick a goal to give them something to defend. They need to get over last night quickly and go there with confidence, they haven't lost to Celtic this season and have already beaten them at Parkhead so they've still got a great chance.

All kicking off at work today, 2 Rangers fans and 3 Celtic fans all having a "debate" about the penalty. I still don't see the big controversy, most peoples argument seems to be how far the ball traveled after it, with Boyd even saying 'if it hit your hand it would drop to the ground' but if it hits your hand a solid head is right below it the ball is still going to travel far. I know if it was us at Anfield and we didn't get that at the Kop end in stoppage time we'd be livid and there would be letters flying left, right and centre to the PGMOL etc.

Why would they in Scotland though, why would VAR, the SPFL, SFA or whoever want Celtic to win their 14th title in 15 years rather than Hearts winning the first non Old Firm title in over 40 years? Celtic winning a title is the worst outcome possible, Rangers winning would be reasonable, Hearts winning would be fantastic, if anything the SPFL would be doing all they can to stop Celtic winning.

Scottish football has never had more attention than it's getting at the moment, people all over the country and further are buying into it and hoping that Hearts can break the Old Firm stranglehold on league titles and win, it's been brilliant for the "brand" for this to happen, so the more people talk about it and watch it, the more appeal the league has so ultimately the more money they can make. I just don't buy this "it's a fix" nonsense that people are coming out with and that "they" want Celtic to win. Another Celtic league title and potential double is the worst thing that can happen to Scottish football at the moment.

Hearts in the Champions League, Tony Bloom throwing a bit of money at them, more competition, more attention coming on the league, more TV companies wanting to cover their games, more money. Or just "fix" it for Celtic to win another title and everyone's bored again.

I can’t speak of the motives, I can only see the pattern I’m seeing.
