Re: Jordan Pickford
Still don’t get why no one is talking about Mykolenko or O’Brien being at fault for that goal.
Anyway, as I said in the matchday, the bigger mistake was not challenging for the header in their box. He proper bottled that and it led to the (how do you say in German) wunderkunt scoring and breaking an Everton record that had stood for 20 years.
Still, no-one has won us more points in the Prem era.

Re: Jordan Pickford
In every goal there are missed opportunities, it wasn't just Pickford. That said, Pickford's is, by way and far, the worst mistake of the collective and directly leads to the goal. Fullbacks get beaten and crosses go into the box several times a game, can't expect them to win every one. Pickford has made a major error that's directly led to a goal. He's fantastic, we love him, he wins or more points than he loses...but he's got to own that one. He likely cost us a point on this occasion.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2026 7:15 am Still don’t get why no one is talking about Mykolenko or O’Brien being at fault for that goal.

Re: Jordan Pickford
It was a tongue in cheek deliberate misspelling because of the ‘vunderkint’-like pronunciation. But thanks for getting involvedBluebridge wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2026 8:14 am It’s Wunderkind (my wife is German)

Re: Jordan Pickford
Love how he's now THAT good that he's deliberately dropping balls in the area to allow an opposition player a free strike just so he can pull off a class save.
He's taking the piss now.
100th clean sheet for us tonight

Re: Jordan Pickford
Has quietly dropped form and I expect there to be questions ahead of the WC on the back of it.
Re: Jordan Pickford
Few little moments. Firstly the penalty, clipping the players foot was daft, hopefully a one off.
The not dealling with in swinging corners into the box, all keepers are being exposed to it and I think its a collective thing keepers and defenders need to work through how they deal with it. You cant expect a keeper to reach over 5 players and punch away, time and time again, my view is your CBs need to own the majority of those. We're still one of the better teams at not conceding from crosses though, so its relative.
In open play he has got under a couple of cross too, that have led to goals, where again you could look at the defence but Picks certainly needs to take his share. But yeah, given how massive our back line is, I tend to look at collective responsibility of both Keeper and back 4 to get back to what was an area of strength earlier in the season.
Shotstopping, he's always been brilliant.
