Re: Jack Grealish
If we are clever we will pass. We ain't clever though. Aging paceless winger who doesnt really look after himself??? 200k a week?? Why not
Re: Jack Grealish
Will never change, you either accept this is him and his decline will be rapid, or you spend the money elsewhere.
Personally I think given his injury we'll only look to loan him again next season so it's not a huge issue... But after that I'd be moving on from him.
Class player but his career will end about 5 years earlier than it could have if he'd had a different mindset towards his physical wellbeing.

Re: Jack Grealish
We're already the slowest counter attacking team in the league. We badly need some pace and as good as Grealish is pace is something he doesn't have.
If we sign him we need to have a reshuffle of the side as we can't have an attacking three behind the striker of Grealish, KDH and Ndiaye, good as they are, as the gaps between the striker and the rest will be so easy to pick off if we try to attack with any speed.

Re: Jack Grealish
I think this could be negated by a rapid left back along the lines of Antonee Robinson. Also a striker with pace to add to that, although Moyes likes a target man so someone like Nicolas Jackson would give us that pace but wouldn't necessarily fit what Moyes wants.Bumble wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 9:02 am We're already the slowest counter attacking team in the league. If we lineup next season with Grealish and Mykolenko on the left then it's going to be a turgid watch, so I really hope we take getting the right LB to partner Grealish as an equal importance to the RB and ST positions.

Find it very hard to be arsed...
He's made watching us more fun. He's made us a better team. He's bought into the club and the fans, massively. Having him at the club is far more enjoyable than not - and that is the reason to watch football, to enjoy it.
And despite what some may claim, he most certainly looks after himself - never blowing on the field. Never phoning it in. He gets messy from time to time - big deal.
Let the lad enjoy himself, and let us enjoy him.

But our results arent really any different with or without him. Hes a top player but doesnt suit what else we've got.
Re: Jack Grealish
I always struggle with this mindset tbh. You can't do the things he does and maintain high level athletic performance, it's why he's missed a lot of football as he entered his late 20s, and potentially a factor in missing the second half of this season.
You can get away with it to an extent at a younger age, but players who continue to do so in to the mid to late 20s pick up a lot of injuries and their drop off is fairy dramatic.
I understand that we wouldn't have him if he didn't do these things, so you do have to take the rough with the smooth, but also I think there's a very legitimate question to be asked about if we would want to commit to several years of top wages for a player who will most likely miss more and more games as his body breaks down.

Re: Jack Grealish
Yeah I do think…probably just loan him again?
I would be a bit concerned if we gave him £200k a week.
Also hope he has someone in his life who will try and keep an eye on him post football. Him and Barkley have it written all over them imo.

Re: Jack Grealish
Lean towards signing him because he's brilliant.
However, he forces Ndiaye to the right and niether are blessed with pace.
Would desperately like some pace in the team. Preferably at both fullback positions and a winger as well.
Maybe McNeil leaves and we sign a pacy winger plus the two fullbacks along with Grealish.
Not sure we've got the dough for all that and a striker.

Re: Jack Grealish
If he hasn't got the pace, play him more centrally because he's got the passes to open up defences.
Re: Jack Grealish
And dislodge KDH? Who is the only one popping up with key goals for us at the minute.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 6:48 am If he hasn't got the pace, play him more centrally because he's got the passes to open up defences.
I think if you have the chance to sign Grealish, for a club of our mid table standing, we should be for it, on decent terms that work for us.
it is then up to us to find enough pace and attacking options around him to make best use of what he brings.
Re: Jack Grealish
We do need to start moving away from thinking we have 11 players and some emergency substitutes.Bumble wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 9:31 am And dislodge KDH? Who is the only one popping up with key goals for us at the minute.

We have 2 slow wingers? That's ok as long as we have 1 or 2 fast ones as well.
It's why Europe is so important for us, it gives us the available minutes to keep a squad happy.

Re: Jack Grealish
Which 2 are the slow 1s? Dibling grealish Ndiaye mcneii? Why would we sign more slow 1s before we address the chronic lack of pace. We cant just keep adding players that dont directly address our problems because hopefully we'll sign some that dosuperpull wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 9:39 am We do need to start moving away from thinking we have 11 players and some emergency substitutes.
