It makes no difference to our transfer policy.

It’s just greed but was always going to happen when yanks get involved.
Wouldn’t say it’s pure greed,

As the Club’s Men’s team transitioned from Goodison Park to Hill Dickinson Stadium, there has been a step-change in operating costs. Stadium operating costs have nearly doubled, with increases driven primarily by maintenance, utilities (including rates), safety requirements and additional staffing.

It’s greed.

The club and the owners bring in more than enough money to cover those costs without raising the ticket prices.

Is what it is, it was always going to come but I’m not naive enough to think there aren’t other ways to cover the costs.

Stadium ticket revenue makes up a pretty small % of club turnover

Yes but as Esclator says - its own costs have risen. It’s capable of paying for itself, then it should. Having to over-compensate and plan it into other areas is just not a good idea.

I’m not saying there’s no greed at all at play here - just that the increase makes sense when you consider the increased costs it incurs.

Unfortunately this is the inevitable outcome of the kind of owner we now have, and the direction most premier clubs are going in (if they haven't already).

I'll renew but it's pushed me close to my limit, each game takes up another 1/2 hours and I'm paying way more per game with tickets and parking.

I'll probably look to sell games here and there too, especially if we keep getting early weekend kick offs and Monday nights most weeks.

The extra amount they hope to bring in could be easily covered by the sale of a random U21s player who will never get near our first team to a Championship club.

It's absolutely greed. The good will generated by freezing prices among long suffering fans who have basically kept the club afloat would far outweigh any small bit of income they might generate.

Tone deaf.

Won’t be long until a decent portion of that ground is filled with tourists and influencers.

The game is moving towards a place that doesn’t include genuine fans.

Won't be long before these fandangled automobeels replace our trusty steeds, neither.

Genuine footy ceased to be, when genuine competition was replaced by who had the biggest bank balance.

I don't really get this shout though? You've just plucked an arbitrary figure out the sky because it's what you consider value for money, or what you'd pay - there will be plenty of people who want one at 50, and I'm sure there would be people who would pay more (as well as plenty of people that will moan about it being expensive, not just you, I get that).

It's not a necessity item - it's not needed to attend games, it is a complete luxury item - hence I don't get why any pricing the club has slapped on it can be deemed a piss take? If you don't think it's worth the cash, simply don't get it. You're not missing out on anything?

I agree with @Bluedylan1 that the timing of the price increases is tone deaf, especially given global issues affecting everyone's pocket, but especially your traditional, working class, match-going fan. I'm not sure however I can put it down to greed of the owners? No owners are making money out of their clubs. They are vanity projects that are often financial black holes (or in Moshiri's case, washing machines). The greed allegations can probably be more fairly levelled at the companies football clubs use to service their every-day running. The increase in those costs, across the board are (in part) being passed on to the fans, it seems.

There are definitely other ways the club can raise funds to cover these. Hopefully as the academy grows, the squad gets bigger and more valuable then we'll see a more sustainable and fan-centric approach. This is a blot against the owners though. Probably the first, in fairness - they seem to be doing a lot right, but good will from fans is perilous. It doesn't take much to turn a fanbase toxic and we need to avoid that at all costs.

I won't be renewing

I've been to half the games this season and the increase just isn't worth it

The whole issue baffles me, at the end of last season I just chucked mine in the bin under the motto “won’t be needing that again” was just a piece of plastic after all.

We've had 30 years of not even covering the costs, limited or no price rises and having to put up with obstructed views, nearly going under, relegation battles and precisely zero silverware, while that lot over the rd are winning champions leagues and premier leagues.

Finally the club is being run as a real business by real business people, who have "invested a shit ton of money to save us from oblivion" which is what we have all been crying out to happen for the last 10 years and if that means having to pay another £3-4 a game and it means we can see some world class players and win something rather than rummaging around the bargain bin then I don't see a huge issue with that.
