James Garner
Re: James Garner
This is it for me. His stats were always going to appear average with average options around him and particularly the team's style of play hindering him.
It's as much who he's now working with and particularly how they're working, than any massive increase to his individual capacities.
Yes he's been more adventurous going forward, but he's been allowed to do so more readily with the direction and the confidence that he and the team have been given. His link up play with KDH, Jack and recently Beto show this.
Moyes has created synergies as well as strategies in the team this season that have made a lot of our players much more effective. A lot has come from the quality of player that has been added around Garner too. Options for him to do more effective things.

Re: James Garner
Obviously rumours are generally made up nonsense, but Man UTD apparently are lining up a £100m double swoop for Ndaiye and Garner in the summer.
Can't see it happening but this is also the danger of doing well as a team unfortunately as your best players start to draw the attention of the bigger clubs.

Yet isn’t this the “Brighton model” we wanted to follow? Buy cheap, develop and flip.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 2:26 pm Obviously rumours are generally made up nonsense, but Man UTD apparently are lining up a £100m double swoop for Ndaiye and Garner in the summer.

Re: James Garner
Apparently they're buying Tonali for around £80m too, so I'd agree it'd be quite the bargain to get Ndaiye and Garner for only £20m more!
Re: James Garner
Starts for England. Big chance for him to stake him claim for the World Cup against a decent Uruguay midfield as well.

Not a fan of this team. Feels it gives no one a real chance because its trying to give everyone a chance

Re: James Garner
This is the problem, you’d prefer giving a maximum of three a go with the settled team, when there’s massive changes it’s harder to impress I think.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 7:08 pm Not a fan of this team. Re: James Garner
Yeah exactly. 3 or 4 new players in the team for each match. This is just a pile of shite. None of them are getting an opportunity with anyone that will definitely play in the world cup. Its just England B and probably not really a chance for anyoneBluebridge wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 7:13 pm This is the problem, you’d prefer giving a maximum of three a go with the settled team, when there’s massive changes it’s harder to impress I think.
Re: James Garner
I am just on Jimmy watch
Started really well, good crossing and set pieces, won possession in a good area. Plenty of touches.
Must be 5 million on his transfer value.

Re: James Garner
Started the half well but faded as did the whole team... Very disjointed but think so far he's looked comfortable at this level.
