The fact we’re even in for Wilson tells you all you need to know about the lack of ambition from our owners.

Get the club on an even keel, optimise the stadium’s profitably and flip us in a couple of new TV deals time.

The same owners that brought us Jack Grealish on mega bucks?

It's not a lack of ambition. They trusted the management team with £45m on a young lad who has contributed zero so far so they are trying to do something, presumably with the manager's blessing so he can utilise them in the second half of the season.

People moaned when Moshiri was chucking huge money away like confetti on a load of shite and now people are moaning that the new owners have a lack of ambition because we're not brining in marquee signings in the January transfer window. Tough crowd.

He is a goal threat and he puts assists up as well to be fair to him. I don’t know if this year, the year he turns 29, with less than a year left on his contract, is the year of judge him on personally?

I know you are just being flippant but yeah he is more of a threat than iwobi. More of a threat than ndiaye and grealish as well, but he doesn’t come near any of those players in terms of overall quality.

He’s also slow.

Over his career he’s averaged something like 4.5 goals a season, 2/3 assists.

I mean, wow. What are we fucking waiting for guys let’s snap him up before he turns 30 and is essentially just a drain on our wages while we desperately try and kick on?
Comparing him to Iwobi was a bit flippant yeah, as I know you had mad love for him.

We must be drawing stats from different sources then. I'd shown he has comparable G/A to Grealish while at weaker clubs and far better internationally. Here is his career total overall though, if you want to discuss the whole lot.

Games = 400
Goals = 110
Assists = 77
G+A per Game = 0.47

If he is averaging 4.5 goals a season and 2/3 assists like you say... I calculate he must be in about his 25th season as a pro. Made his debut at 3 years old. You cant buy that sort of experience to be fair.

Oh and on Ndiaye having weaker stats but being far superior, you were arguing the opppsite and that his g+a stats let him down from being a highly marketable player earlier this season.

Looksie..
brap2 wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 7:44 pm ..Ndiaye would be 26 by the time he gets bought..

I would say he's £50-£60m to us but I dunno if I'd wanna be buying him for that if I was someone else, uness I felt I could get much more out of him. Bottom 21st percentile in top European leagues for g+a. Top 95 percentile for take-ons.
The take away... Harry Wilson has shown far more consistency than you have dude. ;)

How do Wilson’s figures compare to the Nigerian prince at Fulham

I don't think we really should ever be the club to give someone like Wilson their last big(ish) contract as the value is almost never there.

Older quality players (Gareth Barry, Gueye, etc) can make sense because the wages probably aren't going to be over the top and the previous club has taken the depreciation hit in terms of transfer fee. It's that period where players are around 28 where the fees can still be significant enough but the value tends to fall off a cliff and often you start having some falloff in performance too as maybe they start to lose a bit of pace or such.

There is a lot to like about Wilson this season certainly, but doesn't mean he'd be the right fit. I'd probably only really consider if the wages were very reasonable and we were going to play in Europe and needed the depth/experience.

Right okay.

So I am counting premier league goals and assists, as I don’t really care how many he scored in the u21 league or whatever. Apologies.

27 goals across 6 seasons, 4.5 a season. 2.3 assists a season. Are these numbers off? Again apologies if so.

It’s not forensic like, but it helps flatten out e.g a year where he does fuck all and a year like this where he’s on fire.

Point 100% stands on ndiaye. Great player, needs to up his end product. Not sure why you think this counters my argument on Wilson…who I have specifically said is a threat but not as good as them?

Anyway whatever, I’ll be damned if I get into an argument over Harold Wilson. Is he that good? Had no idea, best of luck to him and you.

Well everyone has their price. Its more he is at contract end and 28 isn't 32.. and you cant just have a development squad. All depended on the price and wages of course but, well, it passed the time this arvo. We wont get him anyway.

Plus, not arguing @brap2 . Just enjoying the back and forth. :thumbs:

Apology accepted, next time we are linked with someone and we want to know their goalscoring record vs Azerbaijan’s U21s we know where to come.

Wilson isn't good enough, he is 28, he is having a very good season but it's not the norm. Look elsewhere

Oh dear how ungracious, getting a last word in with a bit of snide. I never apologised.. just giving you an out.

To clarify you said...

"Over his career he’s averaged something like 4.5 goals a season, 2/3 assists."

So I followed up with stats for his whole career. Muppet.

Strange one this.

£1.1m they’re getting him for.

He’s always been a wonderkid on FM.
