Think it’ll just be down to if he can be arsed with another season playing with Mykolenko behind him

Re: Jack Grealish
Shame, we don’t have much luck with loan players and injuries.
Orel Mangala at least has has played a few games for Lyon since he returned

Re: Jack Grealish
Not sure how to feel about this agreement - on one hand it's great to keep him close with what he can offer as a character around the squad and with a view to a future deal... but on the other it feels like the sort of sentimental way of operating that's had us stuck in this rut for 30 years.
Re: Jack Grealish
You'd hope so, ideally with some sort of announcement from Citeh that they've reached an agreement with him to release him from his contract, like Sterling.

Re: Jack Grealish
Seems odd we'd continue to pay the wages for a crocked loan player. Might depend on how the loan deal was drawn up though and maybe we don't actually have the option to cancel it, only City can recall him which they've decided against doing?

Re: Jack Grealish
Think its pretty standard. We cant injury their player and then stick them with the bill. Be a very 1 sided deal if we could take a player, pay only a percentage of his contract and send him back whenever we wanted

Yeah I would expect clubs factor in not paying a loan player's wage in to their PSR calculations for the year, so having to then pay that player's wages would take them over potentially.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 8:27 am Think its pretty standard. You don't loan a player out and not spend the money saved, so I don't think this means we're keeping him beyond this season. Just they don't want to or possibly have the capacity to start paying his wages again this season.

It's it the norm though to send players back if the get injured whilst in loan , obviously something in the loan agreement, but other players Mangala went back to Lyon, our Kids come back to us if they get injured......
Feel deal has been done or soon...

We did but who knows which club picked up the tab for his wages at that point.weimaranerblues wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 11:04 am It's it the norm though to send players back if the get injured whilst in loan , obviously something in the loan agreement, but other players Mangala went back to Lyon, our Kids come back to us if they get injured......

Can't imagine City want to pay his wages for 6 months when his career is finished there.
