I’d definitely try and lowball City in the summer and see what happens. Moyes seems to love him so would imagine he will let it be known to the board that he wants him. Although he would be a relatively short term fix with little to no resale value, as we have already seen from him he is guaranteed to give you goal involvements , as well as being a foul winning machine, which can be hugely useful to us

He’ll cost us no more than £10m tops, could even be a loan again with us covering all his wages.

Can't be arsed with a post peak player with a poor injury record sucking up our wage budget with mega wages as he descends in to a rapid decline over the following few years.

£10m and £125k a week wages would be fine, but anything beyond that and I'd much rather we just continued to invest in younger players on low wages with high ceilings.

No doubting Grealish's quality, but his lack of pace hampers us given we don't have any elsewhere and that's the one attacking position where we're actively looking to buy for.

Bad combo overall, which is a shame because he's a genuinely fantastic player. Doesn't work though unless it fits within our wage structure or is another loan.

Agreed, I just hope the finances dont make it hard to bring in those good players we need around him.

Think id pass unless the numbers absolutely suited us. Wouldn't go much beyond 10m, probably wouldn't want anything more than 2 years with an option of a third and absolutely be hoping it's for less than we are currently contributing to his wages now

I can't see them being the numbers. Think we will end up committing more money to this than we should

I reckon we’ll get him late in the window as City will want, and rightly so, to try and get best deal for him, I think we’ll give a not arsed attitude and pinch him on the cheap.

Really hope the club consider this if they do decide to keep him moving forwards.

But of a problem when you're a bit shit without him but also will definitely be without him for chunks of the season. Then add to that it's hard to buy someone else good as back up as they know they won't play unless he's injured.

100% agree with this. He is an unbelievable talent and I love him on a personal level as well as a player.

But he hasn’t looked after himself the way you need to if you want a career at the very top into your 30s. What you can get away with your 20s will absolutely kill progress in your 30s. Your body seizes up and gets more tired and previous injuries and knocks really start biting. I don’t see Jack becoming sober and a fitness freak, it’s just not who he is.

He is also the type of player that attracts fouls and kicks. Those all add up and your ankles and knees take a battering over the season. I just don’t see him standing up to that punishment.

He is 31 in September and I think he has one more good year in him, but I wouldn’t offer him more than that. The risk of him falling off in terms of fitness and injuries is too high to spend valuable resources on him. I can certainly see another loan deal in the offing but nothing permanent.

Fantastic player but question marks exist. Man City would want a fair bit more than £10m too. Hit the 30 years of age mark, recent injuries. Would be a big gamble to pay a significant fee tbh

I think this is how everyone feels. We'd all want him here but its really about the numbers. I just dont see the deal making great sense to us. I think we will probably make it and just hope he's capable of real contribution for 4 years
