Everton v Leeds
Re: Everton v Leeds
I'm not sure Ndiaye really needed to go over to the left tonight, especially considering just how bad McNeil is (on the other side).
Not sure on Dibling but would like to see Aznou given a go on the left wing to see what he can do. The Coleman bedding in tactic.

Re: Everton v Leeds
So wanted Dibbling to take a shot but he squared it to nobody, which is probably a confidence issue

Mixed feelings about the game. Feels a bit like an opportunity lost to back the Villa win up but improved second half performance. We are just so slow at times in our build up play. Still, dug in well and Gueye was unlucky with that strike off the crossbar.

Thought there were plenty of positives 2nd half. KDH came back, Branthwaite too and he looked really good on the ball, barry scored another good finish. Could have easily won a draw was fair. Dibbling was pretty awful again though

Re: Everton v Leeds
The most frustrating thing is the ponderous build up play, with passing sideways and back again. There's little movement off the ball or when there is, the player doesn't see it, so shunts it sideways again. You'd think we were winning and playing the game out. Mykolenko is shite but has no competition. McNeil is a joke really, but at least we didn't lose and He didn't score, but nearly did

I think we need to be a bit more patient with Dibling, but also be more intentional about how and when we supply him with the ball. I noticed that any time we were slow in switching to him, he was drifting back with his back towards goal and players behind him. When he received the ball like this, he just played the way he was facing - giving it straight back to the player who passed to him.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:19 am Thought there were plenty of positives 2nd half. Contrast this with when we switched quicker and he was able to take on the half-turn with space in front of him - he was able to run at players and take them on.
Bit of a mixed bag from him and he seemed very slow at times, but when we played quicker football as a team, he played quicker and more direct and it was here he showed real quality.
Wish he’d have had a pop and scored though - would have been amazing for his confidence.

Re: Everton v Leeds
In his defence an attacking fullback would make a massive difference to him too. Seemed to always be 2 defenders on him. Do wish he was quickerToddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 8:00 am I think we need to be a bit more patient with Dibling, but also be more intentional about how and when we supply him with the ball. Re: Everton v Leeds
Yeah Dibling had no support, no one around him at all. Why Patterson was subbed who knows.
Slow ponderous, refusing to pass to Mykolenko in 2nd half.
Just really rubbish.
But great to see KDH and Branthwaite back!!!!!!

Re: Everton v Leeds
Some real positives from last night Jared back is huge his passing pace and just his presence is huge hopefully Moyes doesn’t drop Jake for him would love to see them together kdh back made a huge difference as well Barry another solid performance the negatives obviously McNeil was a major one Patterson had no option every time he got the ball Armstrong was ok but too far from Barry myko was so poor when you see teammates turning away from him when he is in space says it all
Re: Everton v Leeds
He needs to pass and move and isolate his full back. Alternatively if he parks himself on the touch line and draws 2 or 3 players toward him like Grealish, you make runs off him and it provides opportunity to find space.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 8:15 am In his defence an attacking fullback would make a massive difference to him too. Taking several players on from a standing start as he did last night is a tactic that will rarely work. They have to work on moving the ball, Dibling and his fullback around much more to pose a regular threat.
Taking Myko off for Aznou seemed such a no brainer last night. Pair him with Ndiaye and you'd have seen much more movement.

Re: Everton v Leeds
Dibbling I thought did worry them, and I was screaming BURY IT
Can understand why he crossed as garner was coming onto it and Barry at the back post so I get it but for me....go and win the game.
Ndiaye lovely to have him back, typical Ndiaye performance in that he's clearly a cut above but we are so shite he's miles away from the goal and unable to actually do anything other than run in zig zags around the pitch. Then he understandably tired, and ultimately ends the game with 0g 0a.
Branthwaite a joke of a cb. Any club with their head screwed on just takes him this summer.

KDH gave him a proper bollocking for not shooting. Quite rightly.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 11:52 pm So wanted Dibbling to take a shot but he squared it to nobody, which is probably a confidence issue

Re: Everton v Leeds
KDH did the same when we took the quick throw and dibling turned over possession instantly.
I feel for the lad, right now it just isn't working and he can't do right for doing wrong.
Re: Everton v Leeds
Kind of like we played our two get out of gaol cards feom up our sleeve, in the one game.
Would have instead liked to have seen them (and the crowd's reaction to them) coming on when we were winning, even if it wasnt yesterday's game.
Would have been a nice boost.
