Nailed on back up to James Garner next season

Moves like Zidane, especially that pivot turn and go... very relaxed on the ball too

I haven’t got time for that usual shit either but I do like this lad. He won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but his technical analysis is good enough for me and far preferable to Toffee TV or MOTD or trying to make sense of mad hipster data graphs.

Mature for his age, you can see why Moyes is ok starting him.

Looks more comfortable deeper too.

We should still be sending him back to Preston at the end of Jan.

There's no way he's starting ahead of KDH, Gana, Tim, Garner or Alcaraz

Very good and prem ready.

Still think it might be best for him to go back for the rest of the season.

With Gana and KDH back he'll drop out of the preferred 3 in midfield.

Then we've got Iroegbunam and Rohl as well. He might be ahead of them in the pecking order but Im not sure.

Long term we'd benefit from all three of Iroegbunam, Rohl, and Armstrong getting regular minutes to continue to develop. And the likely easiest path to that is Armstrong back to Preston, assuming KDH is back in the next 2-4 weeks.

An abundance of options in the centre now with this lad showing he is up to it.

There will be a lot of bench time for a few of them, I think we may see him go back to Preston just so we can give Rohl and Tim more games.

I can't quite tell what type of midfielder he is?

Looks very comfortable at this level which is great given he's only 18, but also not seeing one attribute standing out.

Obviously we've not seen loads of him and he'll develop with game time, so not a criticism, just wondering if he's played a specific midfield role before or been used in a variety of ways at youth level and Preston?

Solid game today. With Preston still pushing for playoffs, I would still think Moyes will send him back at the end of the window if others do return on time.

We'll see though.
