Re: January Transfer Window
Yup. Maybe Moyes would want something to add to have a good season and get his contract renewed. Otherwise he finishes mid table and they back the next guy.brap2 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 12:24 pm Yeah was listening to toffee TV and they were saying he better have targets ready to go on Jan 1st and I just sort of thought...why? What's the point really, push the boat out and get 9th or something?
That said I do think Moyes is keen to 'not miss the opportunity' as he put it in his post match, and would relish getting back into European competition in his first full season.

Re: January Transfer Window
He got 24 goals and 10 assists three seasons ago in Spain good numbers for dnipro as well I would consider him an upgrade on Beto
Re: January Transfer Window
The Beto / Dovbyk swap story did the rounds in the summer, sounds like bollocks to me.

Re: January Transfer Window
First thing I saw on Artem Dovbyk was him missing 2 penalties in the same EL game. Very small snapshot but with the earlier rumours, it didn't fill me with an abundance of confidence at the time.
Would be a bit concerned with a 28 year old striker who kinda relies on physicality a bit, not that large either (6' 2") and never played in the PL before. I'd probably lean toward sticking with giving Barry minutes.
Hoping it's lazy journalism, but the fact we're seeing the rumour pop up again is a bit fishy.
That said, I'm still stubbornly thinking if we gave Beto the service in behind we were doing when Moyes first arrived he would get goals. So I'd probably not bother with this in general and wait for a better option.

If we finish mid table Moyes is going nowhere.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 2:36 pm Yup. Maybe Moyes would want something to add to have a good season and get his contract renewed. Otherwise he finishes mid table and they back the next guy.

Re: January Transfer Window
I like him a lot as a steady hand and as a safe bet. I’m a bit more worried about him as a builder.

Re: January Transfer Window
We are going nowhere with beto and Barry as our options. Im not convinced they arent the worst selection out of the entire league. I cant think of worse.

We're surely currently exceeding expectations?777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:10 pm We are going nowhere with beto and Barry as our options. Im not convinced they arent the worst selection out of the entire league. I cant think of worse.
