Good news football story.

Post

Off the back of the horrid racist incident that saw Sporting Khalsa v Hereford abandoned a few weeks ago (Hereford won a brilliant replayed game 3-2 in injury time), a massive plus has developed. My nearly 6 year old daughter has embraced anti racism wholeheartedly and off her own back drew a picture in a card of Ravan Constable (Khalsa's black keeper) in his purple keepers strip. I wasn't allowed to help or see it until it was finished. It had the strapline "racist is styoopid" (phonics works in primary school) and Come on Khalsa which she copied out of the programme and she signed off love from Rosa.
She handed it to him during his pre match warm up and he sought her out in the clubhouse after that game to say it was the best card he had ever had and he would like it if she walked out with him when she is mascot. Will either be 1st November or 15th November. If the forum is behaving by then I'll try to pop a photo or two on here.

I feel like the club has come together even more after this and turned a shit situation on it's head. It's not Everton and it never will be but given my luck in ballots, it's a club I'm proud to support with my cash and attendance.

@CannockPricey and you know why she has embraced this and now feels passionate about it?

Because of how you approached this on the day it happened. I know you were worried about how you reacted, but this shows you did the best thing possible.

Number 1 dad there!! Fantastic. Hope she has an amazing time being mascot :)

To make the experience as truly Everton as possible, 18th placed Khalsa went toe to toe with 2nd placed Avro and were beaten 2-1 by a controversial 86th min winner...wounding!

Ravan did come over post match to high five her and thank her for her support though. It's the loveliest little friendship I have to say and she has a Khalsa overhead training hoody as a memento too 👍
