Happy to be proven wrong but think Soucek is a fucking awful move on every single level.

The Rebuild

Post

Soucek, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, O’Brien & Barry could all be in the starting line up and would give us five incredible threats from corners - not sure I’ve seen a team have that many players like that on the pitch at once in the prem

Moyes wants more goals and Soucek tends to bag. He got 9 last season so with his height too I get the idea behind it tbh.

We need another midfielder, he can play in a double pivot, probably wouldn't cost a lot (can't imagine we've got much budget left) and the manager knows him and trusts him.

Not at all the player I want in there, doesn't really sit and isn't much of a creative passer, but maybe that's what we can afford right now.

Need to be finding a Michael Carrick type though really, someone who properly sits and has a range of passing that helps us find players with both long and short passes. Probably few and far between those types of player though and we probably don't have another £40m+ to spend on one.

Gutted to not be getting a deep playmaker, wanted one since Barry and we've had Fisher-Price versions at best ever since.

Soucek is a keeping the manager happy signing. But can’t believe scouting department can’t come up with someone better though

Once we bag Soucek I hope that ends talk of Moyes moving upstairs as dof in the future

Maybe they’ve tried and suggested a few, but Moyes may think they’ve had their say with Barry, Aznou, Grealish, and Dibling, and now it’s his turn to get his way

Soucek isn't a disaster, but is definitely not the type of signing we should be making. Very frustrating if that happens, there are definitely more suitable options out there.

From my West Ham supporting mate re Souceck

Great Pro, good team mate, will score goals and wins headers. If you want to play quick passing possession football, useless!!

Would have been much cheaper to give Doucoure 250k a week for two years.

I think soucek probably helps Moyes win more matches here and now.

Big and tall, jogs about constantly contesting for the ball and winning headers and battling with people. Scores goals.

I don't like it but I could absolutely see it happening.

Gana Soucek Garner. Tough to play through.

All the noises point to Moyes being instrumental I'm Grealish coming here.

Tougher to watch.

Would hate this to happen. Doesn't speak well for the transfer committee either.
