I feel the success of the rebuild really won't become fully apparent until the window closes. So far it seems we've had a very ambitious shortlist of young players already established at clubs and with top level experience where they've had decent success.

Basically players who are very good already but have a good bit of development potential too.

All but Barry have turned us down or we've not been able to agree a deal because good players with high ceilings cost mad bucks.

It's caused a huge issue because we've bought or loaned players that improve us instead but do little to redress the balance issues we have. I think KDH is a really good signing but he really needs to be in the 10 or as an 8 in a 3 man midfield. Instead he'll most likely have to play deeper alongside Gana with neither being a natural sitter... When he does break forward he'll find both Grealish and Ndaiye occupying the half space he likes to operate in if we play Grealish as expected in the 10.

No right back, no right winger.

No balance.

I'm still optimistic, I feel we've improved our quality in the team and expect more signings through the door before the end of the window. I think we'll get an RB but until we've bought an RW we probably don't know how much we have to spend on one.

Feels like a missed opportunity because we were overly ambitious in our targets, but I think we'll still be a far better team than we were come the close of the window.

Not bothered with Justin to Leeds. He’s a bit meh for me.

I am very eager to see Maitland-Niles interest revived. There has to be a way to make this happen given Lyon’s financial difficulties. Loan, we pay all his wages, reasonable fee to buy pre-negotiated. Get it done.

Personally feel a RB should be #1 priority. I think you can get away with some combination of Ndiaye, Grealish, KDH, McNeil if you have a RB who can actually play the position as intended (overlapping and getting involved in the attack).

Dibling would be great but if our RB can't support the attack he's going to be a lot less effective.

Also think JOB needs to be able to be 3rd choice CB with a view to becoming a starter next season.

I also don't think we have the money for Dibling at £45m plus a RB and DM who will combined cost another £40m.

Will almost certainly fall foul of PSR in that case.

As long as they get 4-5 year deals, PSR impact should be minimal. I like the Maitland-Niles idea very much (pretty sure I brought him in during my FM20 career), rhymes with the smart business for KDH.

Get AMN and Dibling (and swerve Vardy), I'd be quite satisfied except for the mroronic Grealish business. That's a pretty big "except" though, and I just hope I am wrong. I do accept/understand that I am wrong quite a lot. Parenting will do that to you.

Yes but need the selling club to be ok with that. No guarantees our targets have that willingness at their current club.

Everton and West Ham are both monitoring Yves Bissouma. The Midfielder wants to stay in England.

Bissouma’s first option is to stay at Tottenham but if he’s pushed out by Frank he could consider options.

Yeah the Toffee TV lads have said they were talking to Moyes throughout the US tour, and that he wanted to get Grealish in all summer.

To me it's a situation where it's not the priority signing, but it's also an opportunity that's too good to miss, so you get it done and still work on other targets.

He’s not the meat and potatoes but he does make what they serve up look much more appetising.

I don’t think this window is a failure.

RB is a long standing issue and should have been prioritised - agree here.

But let’s cast our minds back to pre window when we were all saying it’s going to take multiple windows. I see this window as a positive step in the right direction.

So I’m interested to hear what the criteria is for a successful window when you had a squad that was in and around relegation for most of the season and then lost an unprecedented number of players.

Yes we’d like more balance, obviously, but I think we can field a fairly competitive first eleven and I am not worried about relegation and there’s still a couple of weeks yet too!

So calling it a failure at this point? Premature at best, unrealistic at worst imo.
