Think we'll have a thread for him, if there's reasonable links or journalists reporting something then it safe to start a thread rather than just dump everything in the same place. It takes seconds to start one, it's the big box at the top that says "New Topic". ;)

Yay we’re targeting players from relegated clubs again.

Definitely talented, and the approach we've been banging on about (exciting young potential with plenty of upside).

Dibling is all potential at the moment though, so hope he's not the only attacker we bring in, we need some reliability in those positions, relatively speaking.

Looks a very talented boy doesn't he, is a bit of a worry if he kicks on and starts producing goals and assists which for 30 odd million you need really.

Seem to be targeting like...little tidy floppy haired ball carriers?

Very raw talent. Shades of N’Diaye/Grealish in there but one for the future rather than next season.

Wouldn’t say no to both him and Grealish coming in though. One ready made and the other to add depth to come in the season after.

It we get him and Grealish we will have one elite ball barrier and one potential elite ball carrier

Doesn't solve the need for a pacey wide man though I don't think? Seems fairly much Ndaiye paced from what little I saw of him.

FBRef closest comps include Doucoure, Ndiaye, and Harrison.

He does appear to put a decent shift in off the ball in contrast to some of the other names linked.

Already voiced my concerns about paying a primo price for a player with such little demonstrated attacking output. Profile probably looks a lot like Tony Gordon during his time here. Obviously, there’s some upside with that sort of player.

Feel a bit meh about it but I can only disagree so much with a young right winger who can definitely carry the ball and put a shift in for the team.

So it's OK targeting up and coming championship players, but not those from clubs that have just been relegated?

It's not like Southampton are getting relegated to the National League system.

And players from Southampton are generally good prospects for clubs like us, their whole club is geared around developing quality talent and selling that talent in order to stay afloat.

Great player

Suggests we have more money than we imagine if we are able to chuck 30m on this kid

Well, we spunked stupid money for years got burnt on ffp and that made everyone angry didnt it... in retrospect... Board out and all that. Now we're entering negotiations with an initial £27m bid for a 19 year old centre mid and its considered embarrassing and derisory?

So are we supposed to be spending £50m on 19 year olds now? Guessing £100k per week in wages too...
