Re: The Friedkin Group
Could a club build stuff just to sell it to themselves or even someone else. Build a load of houses for the players doesn't count against ffp. Sell them.
Could Newcastle build a 100k all seater next to old Trafford and then just sell it to man u. Amazed Newcastle with all their wealth aren't doing more to try and rig the game

Re: The Friedkin Group
In any other context, this is what's called asset stripping isn't it?
Roundhouse are not Everton and I can't see anywhere that a paper amount of money has changed hands.
So this is good for Roundhouse, it's actually good for the women's team (they can seek external investment now) but there's no real benefit to Everton as a community based institution

Not asset striping at all.superpull wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 6:34 am In any other context, this is what's called asset stripping isn't it?

Everton sell women’s team to sister company - will boost transfer funds & help PSR compliance.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Where's that figure from mate? Been looking for an official confirmation is all.
Because my understanding is we haven't sold it at all.
But maybe using it as an investment attraction that can, in the long term boost our parent company which in turn increases our funds.
But we've not "sold" them. It's not "a Chelsea"
Re: The Friedkin Group
The £60m figure is extrapolated from Chelsea Women's £200m valuation, based on relative revenue.superpull wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:38 am Where's that figure from mate? Been looking for an official confirmation is all.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Oh, so not real then?
We haven't actually sold the women's team - we have transferred ownership.
Yet to see anything from companies house or elsewhere to suggest otherwise.
Happy to point out that I am of the opinion that "just because i haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist".
I'm not arguing here - just suggesting that the official documentation does not mention a sale anywhere.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Everton owners The Friedkin Group have sold the club’s women’s team to a sister company. The move will generate tens of millions in paper profits for the Toffees.
In a move similar to what Chelsea last year in selling their women’s team to a related company at a valuation of near £200m, 17 times revenue, the Toffees have sold Everton Football Club Women Ltd to a holding company called Roundhouse Capital Holdings, a company owned and controlled by TFG chief Dan Friedkin. The move was confirmed by Companies House this week.
Revenues for Everton Women for the most recently published set of accounts for 2023/24 were £3.2m. While the sale figure has remained undisclosed for now, were Everton to sell their women’s team at a similar level then that would represent a £55m valuation.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Conversely, why do we need to publicly announce what we’ve done and for how much?
Rather we weren’t shouting that we’ve now got a pocketful of cash so people can rinse us that bit more

Well, the law says we do have to announce certain things.Cereal Killer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 3:41 pm Conversely, why do we need to publicly announce what we’ve done and for how much?

Companies house is where we are obligated to do it.
Right now it says we have simply transferred ownership to another entity.

Re: The Friedkin Group
My bad - thought it was from that Times article on the previous page but states “could be about £60M” so that’s about as weasly as it gets - could possibly be about in the region of something like close to £60M or thereabouts, potentially, maybe, in that ballpark or so.superpull wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:38 am Where's that figure from mate? Re: The Friedkin Group
Well I can see facts are the women’s team has been sold, the figure mentioned is what’s called an estimate based on the same formula as Chelsea rather than a guess without foundation but whatever you want to believe is fine.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Lots but it's how much you're will to bet on the increased turnover of the new ground too.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 6:07 pm So let’s say it's £55-60m, what would that allow us to spend in psr terms?
If we've sold for 60m we could comfortable spend 200m on fees this summer (on long term contracts) and not be at risk of ffp. The question is where to you find the 40 or 50m shortfall the following seasons.
