Supposed to have confirmed he is leaving on instagram, which I refuse to sign up for so maybe someone else can confirm.

I can confirm, just watched it. He just said he enjoyed his time here, he'll always be a blue and playing for us will always be an important part of his life but it was time for a new chapter for him and the club.

Got to love players like this who genuinely care about the club and have fallen head over heels for the place and the fans.

Always gave his all, scored some very important goals, put in some mega performances where he just kept running and running and running when others were dead on their feet to ensure we got a result. Never seen a player with an engine like his before, even if he lost a bit of that over the past 12-18 months.

Always had a smile on his face and despite his technical limitations he'll be appreciated and missed in equal measures.

Fair enough.

Best for both parties that this is the case.

Now get someone in there who can actually pass.

One of the few from the Moshiri era you can say has definitely been a good signing.

His many pros outweighed his cons. I also have a lot of time for players who want to play for us and truly care.

Fair play. Been a good servant in a horrible time.

Right time to move on for all parties.

I think this is a subtle (or maybe not so subtle) shift in our strategy. I'm convinced we would have kept him under the previous regime.

Definitely one of the few players I'm sad to see leaving. He's been absolutely crucial for us at times, at others infuriating. But overall he's been a very good player for us over the 5 years.

Perfect description of the lad.

Like Douc's workrate and comes across really sound, but at 32 and on a suggested 120k a week, if we'd extended anywhere near those terms, I'd have been disappointed. Hoping this frees up the balance sheet to attract someone special next season.

Been a brilliant player for us.

Dragged us through some really shite periods and our record without him in the team speaks volumes.

He absolutely loves the blues as well.

Well deserves his flowers.

As if he put him going up to the kopites in his farewell video.

He fully bought into it.
