What's the right price though? Would you still take the 15m we almost took in the Jan windowCozzie wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 4:30 pm Would still comfortably sell for the right price, awful footballer.
If he stays next season I'm thinking he depresses more than he pleases.
Having said that, providing he's last resort and we sign a much better striker in the summer I wouldn't be THAT against keeping him as I can't argue he gets goals like.

Re: Beto
Feels a rather hyperbolic sort of comment. Genuinely don't know how you describe anyone who scores 10 goals in what feels like half a season of genuine opportunity an awful footballer? DCL only beat that tally twice in all his time here.Cozzie wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 4:30 pm Would still comfortably sell for the right price, awful footballer.

Given where we are right now though and need to build up from I don't know how many super all around strikers we would likely be able to attract? We have to move up the league to do that in all likelihood and he's probably good enough to be part of a squad that does that if we look to play to his strengths.
I get he has limitations, but he's better than a lot describe him as here.

Re: Beto
Moyes on Beto's development: "He's done great, he's improving. If he was a 19-year-old striker you'd say he's got a bit to go, he's not but he's certainly improving. Let's hope he can get goals in the remaining games.
Probably about right. His future depends I guess whether Moyes thinks he can work with him and keep improving him.

Re: Beto
He's also quite disciplined and will run himself into the ground if the game needs it, he was barely able to walk today when he was subbed.
But hand on heart the reason I like him is that he's full of self-doubt, admittedly not a great attribute for a footballer but it is for a person.
Re: Beto
Choosing to believe he saw the keeper hadn't set himself so let it off early. Possibly a stretch.
For me, if he scored this many but they were consolation goals in the 85th when we were 3 down I'd deffo be selling.
As it is, he's actively won us points and we have a long, long history of buying strikers who could only dream of getting into double figures.
I'm so back-and-forth. Whilst writing this I also thought "we'll never get as much money for him as we would this summer"

Surely there's someone out there who can get 10 in a season but can at the very least do the basics of trapping a football.
Play to his strengths then fine, but get him to play with his back to goal and it's at the detriment of the team.
Absolutely no link up play what so ever with him.
If we can make our money back then we need to be taking it.
Maybe this is a mute point because even if he stays he is unlikely, at least I would hope, going to be our starting striker anyway.
If the Leeds offer is genuine we can take it and reinvest so much better.

Re: Beto
People keep saying sell if the money is right or we get a good offer but what do people think is a good offer now.
It was 15m in the winter window?? Surely it's double that now
