Had a look on a couple of forums and they seemed to have a fair bit of sympathy for us - Man U & Man City, although I guess you'd expect the latter to be some what on our side.
Was thinking “wouldn’t it be in city’s interest to help with our legal costs”?

It's all about the optics to avoid real independent politically-driven regulation.

It's becoming more farcical by the day.
They’re so incompetent, all they’ve done is just fast-tracked a regulator being brought in

So apparently we're due to submit our accounts so the last 3 years can now be assessed, and if we are found to be over the acceptable losses in those sets then we will receive further punishment.

Anyone have any idea how our last 3 sets of accounts are likely to stack up?

Think that was a threat from the PL if we were to appeal the decision.

2019/20
£185m turnover
Loss £139m

2020/21
£193m turnover
Loss £121m

2021/22
£181m turnover
Loss of £44m

So unless we have made a profit of £70m then we'd be a bit goosed.
Spoiler, we haven't made a profit of £70m

What is worrying is that the panel will hear our appeal next week but as per Sky “will endeavour to reach a verdict before the end of the season”. This is MAD ! So say we’re borderline survival/relegation, the panel then are influenced by whether or not we are relegated or survive, suppose we are safe but they haven’t made a decision, do we get relegated in the close season?
We can’t live with this scenario till the panel take months to deliberate, we have appealed today, decision should T take more than a couple of weeks, it’s fuckin corrupt !

That’s just basic numbers though

19/20 is a load of covid excuses

Other years will have stadium costs in there too

Right? Right???

Considering the major part of our defence was attributing losses to covid in the 20/21 season and that was summarily ignored at the recent hearing, i wouldn't hang my hat on that as an excuse.

But yes, both the covid losses and the stadium expenditure is included in those figures.

What are the 22/23 numbers if we’re talking the last 3 seasons? Or is it measured by actual years?

There are all sorts of Covid allowances to be considered in those raw numbers.

And they may want indicative accounts for 2022/23 to show that we are on a good pathway, so June 2022 to June 2023.

If I was investigating a club and reviewing a sanction, I would want to know what mitigating circumstances there are and were they applied correctly. I would also want to know what action was and has been taken to mitigate any further breaches of FFP.

The whole thing needs to be taken out of the Premier League's hands and handed to a football regulator who is fully independent and create a set of rules that work for all on the football pyramid.

2022/23 have not been released yet. Traditionally they get published in the last quarter of the subsequent year - and often as late into that year as possible to ensure all possible variables/invoices/"accounting" has been concluded.

and gary1878, all the covid allowances you're thinking of were included in the investigation into the previous rolling 3 years we were investigated for. Whilst they may be the same allowances, they were not sufficient mitigation then and so there is no reason to expect them to be taken into consideration now.

Only stadium build and any youth purchasing/investment can be deducted from those figures (and the Premier League has already disagreed with some of the costs we are attributing to the stadium).
