Their XG had them going down.
They could break derbys record.
Alternatively, so did Sunderland's this season, and they might win the Europa League next season!

Sunderland were miles off last season too, but bought well and have had a really good season.
Might be that the further off the auto promotion slots the better, as you're under no illusion that you squad might actually be able to compete at premier league level.
Their xG (xPts) had them 18th this season too, so maybe just have really poor underlying numbers.

Hope they all lose. The dream is for the other 19 to out shit us then we dominate.

I wonder how many people are watching this?
Forgot it was on until halfway through and I'm struggling to be that arsed with watching even the final of this competition. Feels like a weird time to play it between the EL and CL finals too.

Rayo have had a fair few chances in this game to do something but it’s rather telling that they still haven’t scored.

David Moyes won it.
Chelsea B won it.
Now Palace will win it despite a poor season and a manager that hasn't wanted to be there.
The fact David Moyes won it says a lot tbh.

Bit galling to have Palace winning two trophies in two seasons, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Brighton getting European football and Forest getting to a Europa League Semi Final while we're still stuck in the 'stability' narrative.
There's never been a better time for a middling club to have relative success. We can't afford to not take advantage of the current landscape.

At least we've got stability though

Be careful what you wish for. Happily disappointed or joyfully crap or whatever other nonsense he described it at is progress
Sick of the players coming out talking about our progress too. Bunch of fucking cowards

What they’ve done with the European competitions with the new format is killing football more than anything else.
By the time we have our chance at the conference league it will mean fuck all.

There is only one solution but they'll never do it. Reduce the amount of teams that qualify for the champions league.
It's absurd that basically every year 25% of this league and another European league (Spain/Germany) will qualify for the CL.
Finishing 8th in the Premier League shouldn't be qualifying you for Europe. 9/20 teams shouldn't be in Europe... and it's now happened twice in a row!
