Skimmed through it, most of it did my head in but that's because it's just an unnatural podcast overall.
At the end sounds like DCL is shooting for a CL club or one competing for CL. Good luck with that one Dom.

He might get that level of club next - and he will barely play

I think Arsenal, Newcastle or Tottenham would take him purely as a squad option.

It suits him barely playing, not being the main man, I don't think his body can take it every week going at 100%.

He could be a less effective Giroud

Vastly depends on what his goals are for the remainder of his career. If he wants regular playing time then he needs to drop down a level - either at a newly promoted side or a Championship club.
If he wants a better team then good luck with that. Will be nothing more than a squad filler, which perhaps suits him given his body won’t be able to take a full season of starts.

You wonder if there's anyone in his life that keeps him grounded? Spent last 4 seasons either injured or barely scoring goals. There's no way he gets a CL team, or one competing for those places, in this country.
I think he seems a decent lad, and there's an element of selling yourself when you're in his situation but talk of CL and the national team at this point just comes across as a bit deluded.

At his best I do think he is that level of player, but he has not been at his best for a long time for various factors, some of which are out of his control but not all of them.
The PR is being handled dreadfully if this is really what he's said re: contract and CL. I know he's got to put his best foot forward and he's got to put himself in a confident light and visualise success, but like...he does not actually sound that grounded to me at the moment considering where he is in his career.

It really doesn’t sit right with me that he has had a contract extension with improved terms on the table for a year now and refuses to give the club a decision one way or the other. He has totally unrealistic expectations of the level of club that would be interested in offering him anything better and will probably realise that he’s not getting fucking Champions League football and being chosen for England again and will on deadline day say “fuck it then, I’ll sign for Everton”
I would give him 24 hours now to eith sign or the contract is no longer on the table.

This apparently is not the case, and the friedkins pulled the previous deal.
That said - players will typically have deals on the table for a while, we have to understand that they are going to assess deals from their current and potential employers and they will come at different times.
That said, he is a million miles away from CL atm, more power to him and I hope he achieves everything he hopes to but he does not feel on that course.

I thought that contract offer was gonna long ago and there's a new offer on the table now? I'd be absolutely horrified if we are still offering 7 or 8m a year. I'm not sure I want him at a third of that
I think he'll end up abroad or at Leeds. He'll get about 70 or 80k a week and lose half if his team go down.

He scored 16 goals in the 2020/21 league season, since then he scored 18 more, he's deluded if he thinks he's getting big money anywhere and CL football. If he goes to a CL club it'll be as third or fourth choice so he's not get £100k+ for that. The only big money he's getting is in Saudi and even they don't appear interested, it's been common knowledge for months that he was available an no one has come in for him.
As said, someone needs to be having a word with him. He probably needs his Mrs to stop posting stuff in Insta too, a noisy Mrs on the socials could be a bit of a red flag to potential clubs.

Ever since it became clear we wouldn't extend or be able to sell, I thought he should go to Italy. He'd be fine on an "upper middle class" side there, like a discount bin Tammy Abraham.

Didn’t realise that contract had been pulled, can’t get used to this level of sensible behaviour by an owner.
