Went to the Kevin Campbell derby as a guest of Joe Corrigan. Never met him before, never met him since, but it got us in the main stand and players lounge. Jumped up when Campbell scored, but it was the derby so there were blues all over.

Been in the home end at Old Trafford a few times, but never had anything to celebrate. Bristol City for the 95 cup run in the home end was a bit moody. Southampton at The Dell and the new ground was fine. City for the game with Cahill and Rodwell goals was somewhere I kept myself to myself. Home end at Stoke's old ground too was somewhere to stay quiet. Think that was only for a friendly too. Blackburn got marked early on as not being local, but the lack of a scouse accent I think just caused confusion. There's probably more that I've been in the home end but can't remember.

I went to West Brom v Barnsley (I think) in the Championship in 2002. They won and it was a result that really made it look like they were going to up to the PL, which they did in the end.

Anyway walking out the ground at the end a WBA supporter said to me "I think we're definitely going to go up now mate" and in a panic I replied "yes mate, I think your roight" in the most ridiculous brummie accent I could muster. Fortunately the conversation ended there.

I went to city years back before the takeover when you could just get the train down and get a ticket for the game.

When we got there we were told they won’t sell tickets to anyone with a scouse accent so my mates brother went up to the ticket office with his worst manc accent and got laughed at.

We decided to just go the pub, where we got speaking to two blues who were meeting up with two lovely ladies after the game for some extra curricular activities and got them to come down to the ground to get our tickets for us.

Having a pretty non-descript accent helps. Only the same as someone talking to you at work about shit you don't know/care about.

I think most fans probably know when someone is in the wrong end and are probably ok with it as long as you

a) don't wear colours and
b) don't be a dick and celebrate if your team score.

Yeah I can get away with being in the Sunderland or Newcastle ends because I have a mixed Yorkshire / Durham / vague Geordie accent. Don't have to worry about speaking and anyone being suspicious.

Obviously I also make sure people see my chinning a horse on the way on to ensure my cover is fully intact.

This is where my being a foreigner comes handy, I can always put on the full on accent and claim I'm a tourist.

Looks like there's more pushing and shoving and shouting and pointing than anything else, there's some punches getting thrown but nothing seems to land too well and as far as I know no one has been hurt, it might be more than a slap but it doesn't look to me like a big brawl people are making it out be. See these type of things all the time and no one bats an eyelid. I'd be more concerned about the racism than anything in that video, it even has the mandatory young bellends near the end pretending to be hard but doing just enough to keep their distance.

Aye, I'm sort of okay with folks getting some flak if they're acting the bellend in the opposing team's end but racism we should never tolerate.

Kept my mouth shut when we scored at the start, but noticed a surprising amount of blokes around me also just stood up but didn't seem that annoyed.

I was at the then milk cup semi final second leg in 1984 in with the villa fans at villa park in i think the trinity road stand.
We got tickets through my mates girlfriends friend from university who was a steward there.
We obviously had the talk before the game, no celebrating if we score or go through to the final.
1st min sharp hits the bar and the 4 of us jump up, sussed in seconds.
In all fairness they were sound, however i never felt totally relaxed, it only takes one idiot to start the ball rolling and vowed i wouldn't do it again.
It was horrible having to get out of there while the players and fans celebrated getting to wembley.
We were all able to meet girl who got us the tickets when my mate married his girlfriend in 1987.
It's mad how things stick in your memory, the day they got married we won 1-0 at qpr on that horrible plastic excuse for a pitch and villa who that girl was crazy about lost 0-6 at home to forest, she was inconsolable.
we of course won the title that season and I'm pretty sure villa were relegated
