I don't like it mainly because as you see with everything else in football, it will always be the smaller clubs penalised for it. As a trial in a friendly summer tournament it would be interesting to see to replace yellow and red cards with a sin-bin ejection system, like in Ice Hockey. A minor foul is a free kick, a cynical foul/dissent is a 5 minute sin-bin[Like a 2 minute minor penalty in hockey], and then denying a goalscoring opportunity or dangerous play gets you a major penalty and 15 mins. Serious foul play, violence or 3 minor or 2 major penalties and you're ejected from the game. Minor and Major penalties are ended if the opposing player scores, also like in hockey.

What's the trigger for trialling blue cards? It's not like there's frequent debates about it, like there were pre-VAR or pre-Goal like tech.

Constant abuse of officials

Which filters down to local football

And then nobody refs any more

Yeah massive shortage of refs for my area, coaches or parents have been having to step in and ref which is absolutely ridiculous.

Well, what do they do now? Are they booking five or six?

A blue card is not a booking.

It is in the sense of the match - ie two will be a red, 1 blue and 1 yellow also a red.

Rotten idea. Firstly it won't be implemented fairly and just used to benefit the big 6. Secondly as the spurs manager pointed out you'll just get sides defending deep for the 10 minutes so you'll make the game less enjoyable

I meant what they're doing NOW. Given that dissent is a bookable offence.

More space for referees to bottle it and give 'larger' teams the lower rated caution. There's already too much disagreement around what's a yellow and a red.

More conjecture, more discussion, more media, more dollars. Yet the supporters will carry the cost of the circus.

Refeees just need to be able to enforce the rules as they are, instead of having more complexity added.

I like the idea of a sin bin, but don’t see the need to have another card. Just do it for yellows.
