A player/coach? Why not. He's the type to not kick up a fuss about lower wages.

Rather we didn't but we could phase him into being a coach.

I think the way we approach the summer all depends on how Moyes intends to set up next season and whether Branthwaite is staying. Links with a left footed CB could suggest either he’s going or we’re going all in on 3 atb plus Keane’s out of contract I think so need a 4th.

If it’s a back 3 then we could target a young RB and LB with lots of pace and attacking threat that need to learn the defensive side a bit more but if a 4 then a RB who’s defensively solid as a base. I’d still like to sign a high ceiling 17 year old LB who will gradually take over from Mykolenko or push him to improve. Successful back 3 teams need lots of attacking quality in the wing backs.

I think a proper DM is more important than people might think so would make it one of our priority positions. The last one we had was Barry. We have enough options at CM/AM for now in Gana, Garner, Tim, Armstrong, Alcaraz.

RW is also a priority as Leeds look on for promotion and we won’t buy Harrison for any decent fee, though I do think he’d be a good squad player. A better player would be needed anyway but we’ll have no-one there as I don’t think Lindstrøm is good enough or is natural to that position if he stays. I like to see him in a midfield 3 if we get the DM but not sure we’ll see it.

If there’s a quality striker available then we should buy one regardless of what happens with Beto. Maybe sell and replace but would probably need another. I’m not sold on Broja and definitely not at the reported fee. I’m ok with Beto for another season provided the team is set up to lay it on for him.

RB, RW, DM, ST in that order for first team signings. Development and look and see loans for LW and LB.

We should target players in the 17-23 age bracket mostly but if they’re good enough they’re young enough imo, just not old fellas for massive fees obviously.

Such a shame about Mangala.

Would have defo snapped him up for around £15m.

Just a really, solid midfielder who’s comfortable on the ball and knows how to play the game.

I wonder if we go back in for him in January.

He was good yeah, but wasn't the fee something like 40 mil?

It’ll be nowhere near that with this injury, as much as he looked a good fit for us, we need to swerve. As said earlier, maybe a loan again in January.

We were never going to pay that but could have had a chance at a reasonable fee.

Yeah it's such a shame he got injured. He balanced the midfield very well.

That would make more sense because we could see how he recovers from the injury.

Another 2 assists for that Tom Fellows.

Wonder if Moyes will still be interested in him.

Quite slow but he is an assist machine in that league.

This is our squad going into next season:
-
Pickford
O'Brien Tarkowski Branthwaite Mykolenko
Garner Iroegbunam
Ndiaye Armstrong McNeil
Beto
-
Subs: Patterson, Chermiti
-
Out of contract: Virginia, Begovic, Keane, Young, Coleman, Mangala, Gana, Alcaraz, Doucoure, Lindstrom, Harrison, DCL, Broja

When you look at that squad then it makes sense to move Ndiaye central imo. Although I wouldn't be surprised if we just give Doucoure a new contract there.

A lot to do:

GK: Virginia (Why not)
GK: Begovic (Why not)
LB/RB Cover: Young?
CB:
CM: Gana
CM: Alcaraz?
Wide:
Wide:
CAM or Wide: Doucoure?
ST:

That would leave us with a squad of 23 which would be on the small side. No doubt we'll have Coleman as the 24th man.

We currently have 5 players on loan, so assume that's the most you're allowed.

Free Transfers: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statist ... evertraege

Jonathan David would be a dream but imagine he's got a lot of suitors much better than us.

Mitchell from Palace, Gomes at Lille, Anguissa at Napoli, Tete at Fulham, Lamptey at Brighton. Some decent options there. Adama Traore?

Who’s that nobody in between Aina and Walker-Peters?

He's not bad, but I don't think he'd be able to do it at Stoke on a freezing cold winter night, so he'd be a waste of time if we drew Stoke away in the Carabao Cup.
