The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
I prefer him to Richarlison on the left tbh.
Much better footballer. Build the team round him so he has some support and doesn’t have to try to do everything himself.

Re: The Rebuild
Sure but like ..similar npxg to Doucs and McNeil who I think we'd all agree...
Him and Charly. Nice on the eye but...if you can't do enough to force Doucs off the team sheet, are you that good?
Re: The Rebuild
I still don't like to think of what happened at Palace as "celebrating" as such.
At 2-0 down with Arsenal guaranteed to paste us on the final day it was looking grim, feeling grim and no-one mentally could be arsed with that scenario.
Because of the manner of the turn around I think the end was, for me anyway, an outpouring of relief and pent up rage.
More of a "thank fuck for that" than an actual celebration. I don't think one single blue was celebrating that season, it was a fucking disgrace.
I think had we beaten Palace comfortably 3 or 4 nil with some early goals there isn't a pitch invasion at the end.
It was the alternative to what would have been a nightmare scenario we where relieved of on the last day against Arsenal.

Re: The Rebuild
Deffo neater with his feet.
Very happy to watch him in the side and yeah hope we can put some pace and strength around him, maybe another player who can play the ball into his feet.
I stick by it that he should be Cahill. Crash the box and use his quick feet and quick execution to get shots off. Shouldn't be playing LW in the prem, no future for him there as a phone box footballer.
Re: The Rebuild
I still don't see him behind the front man, not unless we want to just eternally play with energy and work rate from our number ten. I'd much rather see us play someone in there who has cutting edge passing to create for the front man. For me Ndaiye on the left is exactly where he should be.brap2 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:19 am Deffo neater with his feet.

Look at any of the top teams, not a single one is asking their number ten to run a fuck load and dribble... Even Forest have MGW who has great passing ability.
You want dribblers out wide cutting in and getting shots off or your play will eternally be functional and relying on moments of individuality rather than creative passing.

Re: The Rebuild
I agree like, but it isnt realistic at all.
Id love to be like, our aim next year is to win the league.... but its never going to happen. We have to be realistic and build towards that.

MGW is a crazy ball carrier.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:36 am I still don't see him behind the front man, not unless we want to just eternally play with energy and work rate from our number ten. He does have more cutting edge but that's just because he's a good player.
Ndiaye is too slow small and weak to have a future as a proper LW and will only hold us and him back long term.
He's a good ball carrier but really he's a small space player imo
Re: The Rebuild
Yeah MGW is a good ball carrier but he also has a range of passing Ndaiye will never possess, and it's totally pointless imo having the player in the most creative position if they can't continually play people in or create dangerous situations.brap2 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:52 am MGW is a crazy ball carrier.

MGW about a month ago hit probably a 60 yard pass to CHO I think it was and he scored as a result (Man City was the game I'm sure)... It's fine to be a ball carrier in the ten but you have to be able to unlock defences or you're just replacing Doucoure with another player who's skillset doesn't allow you to create chances through anything than hustle and bustle.
I love Ndaiye, probably my favourite player, but I don't want to see him as our ten because that tells you we aren't moving away from what we're doing now with Doucoure in that role, he'd just be a better version of what we currently play.

Well yeah but that's just cause MGW is a better player.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:06 am Yeah MGW is a good ball carrier but he also has a range of passing Ndaiye will never possess, and it's totally pointless imo having the player in the most creative position if they can't continually play people in or create dangerous situations.

If have him on the left over Ndiaye as well.
Point is he's a good player who should rack up shots, we've got him playing like damarai gray.

Re: The Rebuild
Ndiaye's sound on the left. Just need better players around him.
If you add a CF who could hold the ball up, and bring others into play, a quick attacking left back and a creative passer into the midfield (all of which we need anyway), you'd unlock more of his talents.

Re: The Rebuild
And you'll get it when we sign a left back that isn't allergic to the opposition half, a CM who doesn't hide behind opposition players and a CF who doesn't look like he's just learned to walk.
Ndiaye is the least of our issues.
Re: The Rebuild
Yeah, fine on the left for me.
Really enjoy watching him play. He is very much a modern day pienaar.
