Man Utd at risk of PSR breach, club tell fans - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... 2mknlvyw3o
Nah

Ratcliffe just spouting shite to justify whacking up ticket prices again, although he only put them up like a month ago?

"We are currently making a significant loss each year - totalling over £300m in the past three years. This is not sustainable"

They've said this, it's in the letter so they are going to have to do something quite incredible or dodgy grey area exploiting if they hope to bring that down to the £105m mark!

Also how did they pass the latest one if they've lost that much over the past 3 years?

That’s overall losses. The long list of vague items that don’t count towards PSR probably bring it creatively down to within the limits

I don't think we can moan about anyone having a bit of creative accounting. We cooked our books at about gas mark 6 and still managed to fuck it up.

PSR is being brushed under the carpet by the Premier League because even with the enormous advantage it gives them, the 'big' clubs are still taking the piss. It was only meant to keep the top at the top, so this goes against that.

Even if true that they're close to being in breach, it won't matter.

Yeah, that statement just feels like a load of bollocks to cover their likely existing desire to put up ticket prices because they know they have so many people willing to pay. Every company it feels like of late is trying to push prices and test where the boundaries really are. With a club like Man Utd with so many fans and tourists interested they in truth can probably raise prices much higher and still fill the ground.

Match day revenue from fans isn't nothing, but their biggest revenue I'm sure comes from sponsorship deals, tv rights, player sales, merchandise and the like. I imagine next to those items it's a drop in the bucket for them.

So time for PL to change the PSR rule now quickly.
Or at least apply a new interpretation.

This was just released I believe and thought this was kinda interesting actually to see some of the breakdown of numbers.

Crazy how much Real Madrid make over a season in stadium revenue. I imagine those in charge at Man Utd look at that and think we can squeeze more out of the fans.

David Lynch is probably turning in the grave I doubt he's been buried in yet.

It's crazy to think how we've had a pretty poor season and been battling to get out of the relegation zone yet we are just 3 points behind Man Utd - this is unchartered territory for 99% of their fans haha.

You do wonder when the numbers will start to turn against utd and put them in reel trouble.
You can't just charge your fans more and more when you're serving up constant shit. You lose a generation of international fans when you aren't competing for leagues and champions leagues for a decade. You don't get top money commercially when you're not at the top.

It can't be much longer before they start to slide down the money lists

The madness is though, even when they were shite in the 80s, they still always had shit loads of cash, a massive fan base and cracking commercial income streams. Whatever way you dress it up, great or shite, they are a massive club.

Stability doesn't generate ad revenue. Throw in a bit of kopite bitterness and you've got a perpetual motion cash generator.

Redshite loving media write articles on United crisis.
Giant global fan base wanting to read about their club and the rest of the world wanting to watch them burn.
Those articles then create pressure on board.
Manager isn't given enough time and is replaced.
New manager comes into a dysfunctional situation and needs time.
Redshite loving media write more articles on latest United crisis.

Rinse and repeat.
