Man Utd - relegation?

Post

just throwing this thought out there - bizarre as it may seem but their form is just not happening is it

their new managers tactics 3 4 3 may well work in the portuguese league but the prem is a totally different league

they are slowly drifting towards the bottom 3 -
players cant interpret amorims tactics by the look of it
and with this current crop of players they never will by the look of it

relegation? surely not

Nah. They'll finish around mid table.

Was always a stupid move for Amorim this, when he was in such demand from numerous big clubs.

343 has nothing to do with the problem. Conte won the league with that formation. There's just a deep malaise at the club, that will take time to address. They need to clear out a load of players and just take a massive financial hit on pretty much all of them.

disagree mate - they dont have the players to play 3 4 3 - odd as it may seem
and amorim only plays this formation
fans on their main fans website have said it would take a while to adopt to 3 at the back
and by the time they get players in to adopt to amorims tactics - it could be too late.............
he has one transfer window open to get it right

Nah, they're not getting relegated, they probably only need about another 10-12 points from 20 games.

They're just a richer Everton, spent a lot of money on average players and put them on massive contracts so they're stuck with a lot of them.

SJR looks like he's way out his depth and doesn't look like this dual ownership set up will work. It'll take years to sort them out but they have the finances for now, how long that'll last though remains to be seen if they aren't contending league titles and the Champions League. He seems more interested in cutting the normal workers wages than getting rid of any big earning players and the whole Dan Ashworth saga seems a bit strange.

The manager needs time and they need a structure to get the players in place that he needs. I do agree it's probably a bad move for him though, too early in his career and too big a job to try and sort. It doesn't help with things like high profile fallings out with Rashford which now dominating every time he's in front of a journalist.

They’re finishing above us, so do you consider we’ll get relegated as well?

Whilst two of Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester survive?

Not happening

No but even by their standards, it's a bit mad to see them 14th in the league when we're 18 matches into the season.

Need to be shipping Maguire, Mount, Evans, Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony, Shaw and Sancho as soon as they can.

Even then the likes of Hojlund and Zirkzee are nowhere near top 4 level in this league.

Fernandes and Garnacho can easily go to improve the mood.

Lots of work to do there.

They are a shambles but I think they probably still finish top half. They have been horrific by their standards and are still nearer to European football than relegation points wise as it stands.

22 points which they already have might be enough to avoid bottom place as it and they probably only need 3/4 wins from the last 20 to guarantee safety.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

They won't go down like. They really are an absolute mess though wouldn't surprise me if they spent a good few years outside the top 6 at this rate.

Just an absolute travesty we lost 4-0 to them though.

somewhere between 10th and 13th is where I expect them to finish, relegation not going to happen.

Not a chance they are going down. They get worse with every passing transfer window while spending a fortune though

They've had no success having their pick of players (relatively) and spending a fortune. They are going to have to improve massively in terms of recruitment because they can't attract top players and who knows how long their finances will hold.

I'd be surprised if someone like branthwaite wanted to play there. Obviously they are still a better option than us but talented players would probably at this stage think waiting where they are for a better option is better than signing for utd

They don't have a single top player. No clue how they shift anyone given their wages either. Apparently want 50m for Rashford who's on about 18m a year. Who takes him. He's not good enough for anyone that could afford him unless he fancies Saudi

Ok, can we do Man City?

Travelling at half a point per game the last little period, relegation form at least.

Maybe they can avoid the punishment of severe multi-league relegation by technicality, if they're not in the premier league at the time of the sanction being brought down?

Come on, City aren't getting relegated on the pitch. They're not going to take only 4-6 points from the next 20 games which is what it would take.

They've hovvered around 9/1 all season for relegation and odds only slightly better than us but that's just the bookies being cautious in case the worst case comes from their hearing.

Sorry, I clearly need to do more with emojis. etc

But there must be something going on, I find it hard to believe they've turned to excrement in matter of weeks with only half the first team injuries of Spurs. It seems like an implosion of vast proportions, like they've been on the edge of failure for some time but somehow held it together. Lost dressing room, confidence, effort,... I just dont get it.
