I didn't click the link, nor watch the video as it was the sun.

But the headline was about him coming out as gay, and the thumbnail photo was a picture of him crying.

Doesn't really sit well with me that. Kinda like it's portraying coming out as gay as depressing.

Not entirely sure what his sexuality has to do with anything to be honest. Are they somehow trying to insinuate that because he just happens to be homosexual that is what made him make the statements that he did? In the grand scheme of things, does his sexuality matter? Just not entirely sure what they are trying to achieve with this, apart from a sensationalist headline to get a few more knuckle daggers to buy a paper.

It wasn't intended to belittle the fact that homophobia still exists. Unfortunately, it does. Maybe my previous comment wasn't quite worded correctly. What I mean is why is it anybody else's business whether he's gay or straight?

It's important to talk about because people assume someone is straight unless they hear otherwise.

And so queer people have to come out...

Maybe it isn't anybodies business, but it's an explanation. It is a chance for him to explain the situation and it does give nuance to the situation.

I disagree completely that he did this via The Sun. That is grim.

But he was probably told they would post that he is gay etc and said if he does an exclusive he can take ownership of his coming out.

It's sad but it's the reality for so many people.
